Princess Sam Consumer Products has announced that it has appointed two more licensing agents for Tara Duncan in key territories.
bRAND-WARD Services will manage the UK, while Consumer Products Connection will take responsibility for Spain and Portugal.
bRAND-WARD Services is a global kids’ IP consultancy and UK licensing agency business based in London, helping IP owners and creators to grow outside of their core business and monetise their IP worldwide.
The company works with and for kids’ content producers, toy companies, digital studios, publishers, and all companies keen to expand their horizons. It was founded by Jean-Philippe Randisi, who has held senior roles at such major companies as Nickelodeon, ITV, Zodiak Kids, and Saban/Fox.
Consumer Product Connection delivers licensing and full master agent services, and also acts as a local agent in Spain and Portugal. Its offering also includes promotions, local shows and advertising, retail support, and development and implementation of retail-related cross-media campaigns. Consumer Product Connection executives are highly experienced in building licensing programmes, with a strong background managing major properties such as DreamWorks, Nickelodeon, Sony and Paramount.
These appointments are another major boost for this fast-growing property. First published in 2003, tens of millions of Tara Duncan books have been sold worldwide. The animated 52 x 13’ series launched in 2022; total sales of the first series now exceed 80 countries. A second season, with 52 new episodes, is currently in production, with plans to produce 2 x 26’ special episodes. A digital ecosystem is also being developed to expand Tara’s universe and to delight the Tara fans – known as ‘Taraddicts’.
To further promote broadcast growth, the Princess Sam Entertainment Group recently appointed Superights as global distributor for Tara Duncan. Superights will represent worldwide rights distribution, except in Mainland China.
Tara Duncan is the exciting story of an ordinary girl from Earth with extraordinary powers who discovers she is heir to the throne of the Meme empire. She soon finds herself on OtherWorld, a magical planet where she makes new friends and tries to thwart the ambitions of the evil Magister who wants to steal her magic and conquer her new home.
As Tara Duncan brand awareness grows, Head of Licensing for the Princess Sam Consumer Products division Laurent Taieb is bringing more than thirty years of proven operational experience in all aspects of consumer products and licensing to the Tara Duncan licensing campaign
The campaign has already awarded a licence in the French market to toy company tonies and appointed Maurizio Distefano Licensing (MDL), as licensing agent for Italy. MDL has now been joined by bRAND-WARD and Consumer Product Connection. More appointments are expected in the near future.
Jean-Philippe Randisi, Company Director at bRAND-WARD Services, says “I am very proud and happy that bRAND-WARD has been given the opportunity to work with Laurent Taieb and the team at Princess Sam Consumer Products. The enduring appeal of the Tara Duncan books is now going to take all screens and UK audiences by storm”.
Julien Barbier, CEO, Consumer Product Connection, says “We are delighted to collaborate with Princess Sam Consumer Products and thrilled at having been chosen as its licensing agent for Iberia. It’s clear that both the brand and the show have enormous potential and we are convinced it will have a great broadcasting and consumer product success in Spain and Portugal”.
Laurent Taieb says: “As viewer figures and the number of broadcast agreements continue to rise we are moving quickly to appoint best-in-class licensing agents for Tara Duncan to meet growing consumer demand. We are therefore delighted to announce the appointments of bRAND-WARD and Consumer Product Connection – two highly respected names in their territories”.
