Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity (GOSH Charity) has announced the launch of an outdoor walking art trail inspired by the story of Peter Pan and the magic of Neverland.
The trail will raise vital funds to support GOSH Charity’s Build it. Beat it. appeal, which aims to help build a new Children’s Cancer Centre at Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH) to transform care and help beat cancer for more children.
A Neverland Adventure: Art Trail, launched in partnership with Wild in Art, will see a collection of beautifully designed storybook benches installed across Bloomsbury and the greater Camden borough in July and August 2027.
The Trail Structure & Open Call
Large Storybook Benches: The trail will feature 35–50 large benches, each designed by a different professional artist and sponsored by a corporate or philanthropic partner.Community Benches: Around 50 smaller benches will be decorated by local schools and community groups through a bespoke learning programme.
Artist Open Call: In Autumn 2026, an open call will launch for artists, designers, and creatives to design and decorate the storybook benches, interpreting themes of childhood, imagination, adventure, and Neverland.
Charity Auction: Following the close of the trail, all benches designed by professional artists will be sold at auction to raise money for the new medical center.
The initiative was officially launched at a special event at the Kimpton Fitzroy London in Russell Square, where the very first bench created for the trail was exclusively unveiled.
A Historic Connection to Peter Pan
Author J.M. Barrie gifted the rights to Peter Pan to GOSH in 1929. The ongoing revenue from this legacy helps GOSH Charity fund cutting-edge medical equipment, groundbreaking research, the building and refurbishment of child-centred medical facilities, and vital support services for patients and families.
