TG Entertainment and Kew Gardens Unite for Fun

TG Entertainment Ltd. is teaming up with Kew Gardens for a six week doodletastic interactive experience, Tom Gates EPIC Adventure, inspired by the global bestselling Tom Gates book and TV series by Liz Pichon.

Taking place Kew Gardens from 18th July to 31st August, the trail will give young visitors the opportunity to create, roam and play in an activity hub bursting with mischief and makes — all inspired by the adventures of Tom Gates and his friends and family. The experience will be supported by an extensive advertising and marketing campaign.

Children can choose their own adventure as they journey through hands-on crafting activities, a giant interactive doodle wall, an epic live musical performance by Tom’s band DogZombies, and a code-cracking tree trail woven through woodland paths. Activity guides will be on hand including a map of the locations on the ‘Totally Terrific Tree Trail’ and more crafty activities to try at home. And, on 1st August, there will be a special members only, pre bookable, appearance from inspirational Tom Gates’ creator Liz Pichon who will meet her young fans and sign books.

Tessa Moore, Marketing Director of TG Entertainment says:

“We are incredibly excited to embark on this adventure with Kew Gardens to help bring Tom Gates unique blend of creative fun into children’s lives as they enjoy the great outdoors. Whether fans of the series, or new to the character world, the collaboration is a great alignment of two trusted brands which we hope will spark curiosity, inspire creativity and encourage families to explore the glorious natural wonders Kew has to offer.”

Rebecca Harfield, Creative Programme Manager at Royal Botanical Gardens, Kew said: “We’re delighted to have partnered with TG Entertainment Ltd to bring Tom Gates EPIC Adventure to Kew Gardens this summer. The experience is packed with creativity, music and outdoor fun, from hands-on crafts and giant doodle walls to live performance from DogZombies and a clue-filled woodland trail. We’re incredibly grateful to TG Entertainment for their support and collaboration throughout the planning process and we can’t wait to welcome families for a fun-filled summer adventure at Kew.”

The activity forms part of the wider Brilliant World of Tom Gates licensing programme, which currently includes sustainable drink bottles from ION8, dress up with Smiffys, greetings cards from Woodmansterne and collectable figures from Tonies. Tom Gates drink bottles, a range of the popular books and a costume will be available to purchase in the Kew Gardens Shop. The Tom Gates EPIC Stage Show is currently touring the UK in its second year. Liz Pichon will also be inspiring young fans of the books to get creative with special appearances at the Hay Festival 2026 on Saturday 30th May.

Liz Pichon’s original Tom Gates book series, which inspired the show, has sold more than 16.5 million copies worldwide and has been translated into 47 languages. The highly-illustrated diary format novels are filled with humour, creative fonts and doodles to engage all children in Tom’s relatable everyday trials and tribulations at home and school. The first book in the series, The Brilliant World of Tom Gates, has just been relaunched with new content to celebrate 15 Funny Years. The 25th book in the series, Tom Gates is Not Famous (Yet) will be published in October 2026.

Tom’s world also features in the hugely-successful and award-winning TV spin-off – The Brilliant World of Tom Gates, which features the voices of stars including Catherine Tate, Mark Bonnar and Bonnie Langford and brings to life the wonderful characters, illustrations and humour that have made Tom Gates a success around the world. All three series, plus Christmas and Halloween specials, are available to view on demand on Sky Kids and Now with selected episodes and clip compilations on YouTube.

The Brilliant World of Tom Gates is produced by TG Entertainment Ltd with additional investment from Sky Kids, The National Lottery and Scottish Government through Screen Scotland, and WildBrain. The Executive Producers are Ken Anderson, Arabella Page Croft, author illustrator Liz Pichon, and Ian France, Commissioning Editor at Sky.
