Cyberchase returns this spring for its 16th season. Exciting episodic adventures, a new digital shorts format, and a kid-friendly interactive learning game place a deepened emphasis on foundational math skills.
New episodes, available in English and Spanish, began streaming April 17 on pbskids.org and the PBS KIDS App. Episodes can also be streamed for free on the official Cyberchase YouTube channel, where behind-the-scenes content, math challenges and at-home activities will roll out weekly.
The emphasis on foundational math comes at a critical time as educators continue to prioritize core STEM competencies and learning gaps among elementary students. By meeting children where they are—at home, in classrooms, and online—Cyberchase helps ensure that high-quality STEM learning is accessible to all.
Five new episodes follow the beloved CyberSquad as they race across Cyberspace, using brainpower, math, and teamwork to solve big challenges. Matt, Jackie, Inez, and Digit launch a community fix-it clinic, travel back in time to restore a struggling ecosystem, tackle fractions in a sports-filled showdown, and embark on a quest powered by patterns. Environmentally themed episodes will roll out in April as part of Earth Day programming. The episode “A Vote for Belly Bowl Captain” ties to the America250 initiative, introducing themes of voting and civic participation.
“Cyberchase Math Bytes,” a short-form digital series, premiered in February on PBS KIDS platforms and the official Cyberchase YouTube channel. Each installment runs about seven minutes and centers on a single concept within a self-contained story. PBS KIDS will also present the shorts as a compilation special during the back-to-school season.
“Our approach is that math is everywhere, and all children can be successful problem solvers,” said Sandra Sheppard, executive producer of Cyberchase and Kids’ Media and Education for The WNET Group. “We believe that developing core math skills and knowledge will help prepare children to be successful in an increasingly tech-driven world.”

In Cyberchase’s latest digital game, “Cyberchase: Reboot Rescue,” players join Digit to stop Hacker and restore power to Motherboard. Developed in partnership with Space Monster and early education advisers, the game introduces elementary math concepts including place value and subtraction. It launches in June 2026 on PBSKIDS.org and the PBS KIDS Games app

More than 30 independent studies show that Cyberchase helps children understand and retain math concepts. A 2023 study found the program also had measurable effects on children’s environmental and STEM learning, attitudes and beliefs.
