Almond Entertainment: Phil the Nerd’s Global Success

The international success of “The New Diary of Phil the Nerd” continues to grow, confirming its position as one of the most relevant IPs in the kids and young adult market.

Created by bestselling author Philip Osbourne and developed by Almond Entertainment, the company has rapidly grown over the past decade and is now present with leading publishers in over 70 countries.

Strategic Partnerships in Italy

In Italy, the project is at the center of a major agreement with SAE Comics – part of Fondazione Pescarabruzzo and SAE Group – which includes the publication of the comic series in newsstands in collaboration with major national newspapers, as well as the release of the 6 official volumes in bookstores and comic shops.

International Expansion and Editorial Agreements

On the international front, Almond Entertainment has signed an editorial agreement with Harper & Collins for the publication in India of a new trilogy dedicated to Phil the Nerd. At the same time, a new agreement has been reached with Mondadori for the development of a new saga of “Martin’s Adventures”, both written by Philip Osbourne and illustrated by Roberta Procacci.

Among the latest developments, “Ziko”, a football-themed IP created by Philip Osbourne, has been selected by Sky, which has chosen to support the project with the development of a web cartoon and a comic series. The brand is already expanding internationally, with active sales in multiple territories – from Albania to China – in collaboration with publishers such as Argeta. The IP is developed in synergy with the Australian animation company Kreiworks.

Innovation in the Animation Sector

Almond Entertainment is also engaged in the development of new platforms and innovative solutions in the animation sector, in collaboration with major Korean producers, including Play Curio. These projects will be subsequently distributed by SAE Comics.

Statement from the Creative Direction

Commenting on these achievements, Dario Gulli, Creative Director of Almond Entertainment, stated:

“I would like to thank Harper & Collins, Mondadori, and SAE Comics for believing in the world of Phil the Nerd. It is also a great honor for me to have been appointed Editorial Director of SAE Comics, an innovative company that allows us to work across traditional publishing and new media. Special thanks go to Nicola Mattoscio, President of SAE Comics and Fondazione Pescarabruzzo, and to Alberto Leonardis of SAE Group. I am pleased to collaborate with such important professionals and visionaries and to contribute to the cultural and artistic development led over the years by Professor Mattoscio. This represents a strong creative and strategic motivation for me.”

The journey of Phil the Nerd stands today as a clear example of international editorial development, made possible thanks to collaborations with major publishers and partners such as Mondadori, SAE Comics, Harper & Collins, Argeta, Ciranda Cultural, Albatros Media, and others, contributing to making the IP increasingly popular and widely distributed in over 50 countries.
