Taiwan Pavilion ATF 2025

Taiwan’s content industry attracts major global buyers at ATF 2025 with a strong slate of film, TV, and animation projects.

Taiwan’s content strategy emphasizes cultural authenticity and diverse storytelling. Taiwan’s film lineup at ATF includes A Foggy Tale, the leading contender at the 2025 Golden Horse Awards with 11 nominations and four major wins: Best Narrative Feature, Best Original Screenplay, Best Art Direction, and Best Makeup & Costume Design. Other highlights include April, a drama exploring cultural ties between Taiwan and the Philippines through the story of a migrant worker, and Dangling, Taiwan’s first high-rise disaster film. These productions demonstrate Taiwan’s capacity to create narratives that resonate across regional markets while maintaining artistic excellence.

Television offerings reflect this commitment to cultural bridge-building. Featured TV series include Bloody Smart, Asia’s first live-action adaptation of horror master Junji Ito’s work, starring Gigi Leung and Buffy Chen; The Accidental Influencer: Love Me If You Dare, the second season of a popular comedy franchise based on Taiwanese influencer Red; and Haunted House Secrets, from the director of box-office hit The Bridge Curse. Unscripted series include 4 Her Journey, following four actresses in their forties on a journey of self-discovery; Stellar Bites, a culinary competition blending Taiwanese and international cuisine; and Have a Pet Day, where celebrities share moments with their pets.

The delegation wants international buyers to explore the creativity and variety of Taiwan‘s content. A key event for this is the Buyer’s Lunch: Taiwan Spotlight.

TAICCA CEO Erica WANG said that Taiwanese content is getting more international recognition. She also confirmed TAICCA’s commitment to connecting creators with global partners and supporting co-productions, creative exchanges, and cross-border investment.

Also TUNG Chen-yuan, Taiwan’s Representative to Singapore, joined the event in support of the delegation. He said the strong turnout at the Buyers’ Lunch showed how popular Taiwanese pop culture is in Singapore. He added that Taiwan’s dramas, films, and animations have a loyal following in Singapore and Malaysia for over 20 years, and said that the event was an important chance to create new business partnerships.

Fiona LO, CEO of True Fun Entertainment, noted that it provided a rare opportunity to connect with international partners that would be difficult to reach in Taiwan. She also highlighted the presence of multiple buyers from India, which led to unexpected and exciting opportunities.

Another important figure at the event was CHEN Hsin-i, Founder and Producer of Lusasa Animation. She said that companies from India, Singapore, and Hong Kong reached out for further discussions. She also credited TAICCA’s international initiatives for opening doors to global markets, allowing Taiwanese companies to connect with established industry players, a task that used to be difficult.

Tintin Li, producer at Brilliant Animation Studios, added that she is already in talks with potential buyers and hopes these conversations will soon translate into concrete business opportunities.

This year, presenters included Lusasa Animation, Xanthus Animation Studio, Flash Forward Entertainment, Brilliant Animation Studios, and True Fun Entertainment, showing a mix of animation and other content projects with strong international potential.

Taiwan’s presence at ATF 2025 also extends to special events and competitions. Forbidden Land, Republic of Casino, and The Life Changers have been selected for the EST N8 Horror Pitch, SAAVA IP Accelerator, and Mediacorp Co-production Pitch. Spotlight on Rail Life Story, an infotainment series co-produced by Taiwan Public Television Service (PTS) and Singapore’s Mediacorp. A Controversial Entertainer, slated for 2026, is featured at the KC Global Media Distribution Content Showcase. Together, these events showcase Taiwan’s content diversity and readiness for global opportunities, reinforcing its role as leading player within the Asian content market.
