Following a sold-out world premiere at Seattle Children’s Theatre, Chicka Chicka Boom Boom: The Musical has officially launched its national tour, bringing rhythm, rhyme, and coconut tree fun to audiences across the country.
Based on the best-selling children’s book by Bill Martin Jr., John Archambault, and Lois Ehlert, this high-energy musical bursts onto the stage with colorful visuals and playful songs that transform the alphabet’s daring climb into a lively celebration of learning, teamwork, and imagination.

“A is for Adventure!” In this playful adaptation, the alphabet letters race up the coconut tree only to tumble down in a whirlwind of color and laughter. Filled with audience participation, catchy music, and a literacy-rich message, Chicka Chicka Boom Boom: The Musical introduces children to the magic of theatre through movement, melody, and story.

Meet the Creative Team
The production is written and directed by Nina Meehan, one of the most celebrated voices in Theatre for Young Audiences (TYA). Meehan’s storytelling brilliance and educational insight shine in this adaptation, following acclaimed productions such as She Persisted and Where the Mountain Meets the Moon.
Austin Zumbro (Composer and Playwright), known for Goodnight, Goodnight, Construction Site the Musical and Llama Llama Live, brings a lively, genre-blending score that keeps audiences clapping along from beginning to end. Produced by P3 Productions (Ben Holtzman, Sammy Lopez, Fiona Howe Rudin) in partnership with Seattle Children’s Theatre and Arlene Scanlan / Moxie & Company, this tour marks amajor milestone in bringing one of children’s literature’s most beloved classics to life for a new generation.
