Following the great success of the Philately Day stamp dedicated to Pikachu and the collectible folders featuring the 8 Pokémon regions, a new exclusive offering is being launched: gold and silver medals dedicated to Pikachu, presented in two special cases—Poké Balls in Silver and Gold editions.
This initiative brings together philately, numismatics, and pop culture, and is the result of a collaboration between Poste Italiane, The Pokémon Company International, and the Italian State Mint and Polygraphic Institute (IPZS).
The IPZS has specially crafted a silver and a gold medal for Poste Italiane, both housed inside a Poké Ball.
- The Silver Poké Ball comes in a faux leather case with a red velvet interior and contains a medal depicting Pikachu in 925‰ silver. It weighs 18 grams and has a diameter of 32 millimeters. It includes an IPZS certificate of authenticity with the CVP for the Philately Day dedicated to Pikachu and will be unveiled at Lucca Comics & Games 2025.
- The Gold Poké Ball comes in a faux leather case with a black velvet interior and contains a medal depicting Pikachu in 917‰ gold. It weighs 10 grams and has a diameter of 22 millimeters. It also includes an IPZS certificate of authenticity with the CVP for the Philately Day dedicated to Pikachu and will be presented at the WOW event in Bologna.
Both certified medals are limited edition.
