16th CONTENT TOKYO – DRIVING INNOVATION AND CONNECTION IN CONTENT CREATION AND TECHNOLOGY

The 16th edition of CONTENT TOKYO proved to be a landmark event in the creative industry, held from November 20 to 22 at Makuhari Messe, Japan.

Licensing Magazine was one of the official media partners at this year’s Content Tokyo.

This three-day gathering attracted key decision-makers and innovators in content creation, production, advanced technology, and licensing, delivering an outstanding platform for exploring the latest advancements and trends.

Organized by RX Japan Ltd., this year’s CONTENT TOKYO drew impressive attendance, with 21,355 visitors and 329 exhibitors* from across the globe. Spanning six specialized shows—including LICENSING JAPAN, Video & CG Production Expo, Creators’ Expo, Advanced Digital Technology Expo, Ad Creative & Marketing Expo, and the newly launched Communication Design Expo—the event also debuted the CONTENT Hub and Content Business Support Area. These dedicated zones highlighted the latest tools and services essential to keeping brands at the forefront of today’s rapidly evolving media landscape.

As entertainment and content consumption become increasingly digital, staying fresh and relevant is crucial for brands. The expo met this challenge head-on, particularly in light of transformative technologies like AI and generative tools, which are reshaping content creation and audience engagement. Attendees had invaluable opportunities to connect with new talent, explore cutting-edge technology, and forge partnerships for the future. With representation from dozens of countries, CONTENT TOKYO underscored its role as a premier networking and lead-generation venue within the global content community.

The event’s success reflects its ongoing mission to drive the entertainment industry forward, promoting the dynamic role of content in marketing and branding by bringing together the people, technology, and services pushing the industry to new heights. This year’s show was further amplified by concurrent events like XR & Metaverse Fair Tokyo and NexTech Week 2024, highlighting the potential of generative AI and other emerging technologies to transform content production and delivery.

Feedback from exhibitors underscored the value CONTENT TOKYO provides to the industry, with many applauding the platform for its role in fostering connections and helping businesses stay ahead of evolving trends. As the event closed on a high note, CONTENT TOKYO’s management announced its next installments for July 2-4, 2025, at Tokyo Big Sight and October 8-10, 2025, back at Makuhari Messe. The 17th and 18th editions are set to continue the tradition of celebrating and supporting innovation in the content and entertainment sectors, championing the creative industry through every change and advancement to come.
