‘TIS THE GRINCH HOLIDAY PODCAST’ RETURNS FOR THE HOLIDAY SEASON

From stealing Christmas to stealing the podcast mic, The Grinch is back and really getting into this podcast thing! Wondery and Dr. Seuss Enterprises has announced that their breakout hit original series ‘Tis The Grinch Holiday Podcast will return just in time for the holidays, with comedian James Austin Johnson of Saturday Night Live returning to voice the beloved curmudgeon himself, The Grinch.

The festive variety show-style podcast follows The Grinch as he stubbornly refuses the joys of the season, cozies up to hotshot celebrity guests, and investigates a brand-new mystery that puts him right in the center of another dastardly Christmas caper. This season will debut with the first two episodes releasing on November 25 on Wondery+, Amazon Music, and everywhere listeners get their podcasts, with new episodes releasing every Monday through December 23.

The return of Tis The Grinch Holiday Podcast for a second holiday season is a hilarious and entertaining podcast for the entire family to listen to for the holidays, with celebrity guests that kids and parents alike will want to listen to. This season’s guests include Emmy Award-winning actor Jon Hamm, iconic actor and filmmaker Danny DeVito and actress Lucy DeVito, actor and musician John Stamos, Tony Award-winning actress Renée Elise Goldsberry, skateboarding legend Tony Hawk, social media sensation Brittany Broski, Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter Tori Kelly, NBA star DeAndre Jordan, SNL cast member Heidi Gardner, comedian and actor Fortune Feimster, and actor Nick Kroll.

The Grinch will lovingly roast them all like chestnuts on an open fire with his curmudgeonly charm, so grab your hot cocoa and cozy slippers to find out if The Grinch’s heart will triple this season—or if he’ll send his guests tumbling back down Mount Crumpit.

This season will also include bonus exclusives on Wondery+, Wondery’s subscription offering, as Cindy Lou Who solves a mystery in Cindy Lou to the Resc-Who, an “underground broadcast” led by Cindy and Max the Dog. Grinch has no idea that his pals are working behind-the-scenes to uncover the truth of a dramatic Christmas mystery: Who stole all of Whoville’s letters to Santa? Cindy Lou to the Resc-Who is available in Dolby Atmos, creating a fully immersive experience that transports listeners straight to Mount Crumpit, and will air Tuesdays and Thursdays starting December 3, exclusively on Wondery+.

Marshall Lewy, Chief Content Officer for Wondery, said, “When we started working with The Grinch, we could barely get him to show up for the tapings, he hated it so much. But now he’s really gotten into this whole podcast thing, and he’s getting bigger guests than ever. Plus, he’s even Grinch-ier than ever.

Susan Brandt, President & CEO of Dr. Seuss Enterprises, stated, “We’re thrilled with the creative approach the Wondery team developed for Season 2 of our ‘Tis the Grinch Holiday Podcast’. There have been many Grinch iterations over the years, but James Austin Johnson brings a fresh level of comedic intelligence. We can’t wait for our fans to hear the new episodes and laugh their way through this Holiday season.

Wondery Kids & Family roster of popular family programming also includes: The Cat in the Hat Cast, a variety show-style podcast inspired by the iconic Dr. Seuss characters, Wow in the World, the #1 science podcast for families, hosted by Guy Raz and Mindy Thomas; and the NAACP Image Award-nominated Whose Amazing Life?, a puzzle format podcast that presents facts about a renowned figure and invites listeners to guess who the person is at the conclusion of each episode.

Listen to the second season of the ‘Tis The Grinch Holiday Podcast starting November 25, on Wondery+, Amazon Music, and everywhere you get your podcasts.
