The year 2024 has just begun and its first half is already shaping up to be very busy for the toy, animation, publishing and licensing industry, and Licensing Magazine will have a widespread presence at the major industry events all over the world from the end of January to July.
January is already a busy month, with a fashion focus for those attending Pitti Uomo and Pitti Bimbo in Florence (Italy). Licensing Magazine will be present at these events, with a visit to the benchmark home décor event, Maison et Objet, to catch the latest consumer products trends.
At the end of January, it is the turn of Nuremberg. From 30th January to 3rd February the industry meets at the Spielwarenmesse, the leading international event dedicated to the world of toys. From year to year this fair welcomes the licensing industry in ever greater numbers. Licensing Magazine is Content Partner, together with Licensing International and BrandMate of the rich programme of conferences dedicated to the dialogue between toy and licensing, the LicenseTalks. Some of the leading international players in the sector will discuss the intense relationship between these two industries with case histories, best practices and current trends. Also new for this edition is the creation of the first Licensing Lounge, which will be a new meeting point for the international industry and will be located in a strategic area of the fair. Finally, as usual Licensing Magazine will be present with its own stand, Foyer Hall 12.0 booth #10. Come and visit us!
Following Nuremberg Toy Fair, Licensing Magazine flies to San Diego for the Kidscreen Summit, the unmissable global event for all professionals dealing in the kids’ entertainment business. For the occasion, we will be meeting video content producers to discover their latest novelties.
February ends in Kielce, Poland, on the occasion of Kids Time, the main trade fair in Eastern Europe dedicated to children’s products. For this event, Licensing Magazine will not only be Media Partner but also organiser of the first international licensing conference with European licensors who have created an important bridge with the Polish and Eastern European market. We will announce soon the speakers’ lineup.
In March, we are back to the magical world of animation with Cartoon Movie, from 5 to 7 March in Bordeaux (France), the reference event in Europe dedicated to animated films. Pitch, Previews and the main novelties of the sector will be presented during this kermesse organised by Cartoon Media. Here too, Licensing Magazine is Media Partner and will be attending to meet friends and partners from this part of the industry and discover the news of the moment to share with its readers.
Spring arrives with the Bologna Children’s Book Fair and the Bologna Licensing Trade Fair, from 8 to 11 April. During the world’s leading publishing fair for children and young people, and its rich licensing pavilion, many innovations are planned. In addition to the renewed matchmaking activity between exhibitors and retail and fashion companies in the licensing area, new initiatives are on the pipeline such as the Licensing Portfolio Review, to invite consumer goods companies to discover and meet illustration and design talents and create new opportunities for collaboration. A great way to combine the essentials of publishing with consumer products. Also back is the 4th edition of the International Kids Licensing Days: three days on the main trends of the moment, from the Japanese world to gaming, from retail to animation, publishing and its intermingling with licensing.
The Bologna Licensing Awards are back for the 7th edition. Time until 19 January to be part of this prestigious awards. The finalists will be treated to a rich showcase at the fair and extensive press coverage.
Licensing Magazine is the official magazine of the Licensing Pavilion in Bologna and will produce a dedicated issue for the occasion that will be distributed throughout all the trade fair areas, publishing and licensing.
The week in which the Bologna Children’s Book Fair will take place is particularly busy, since the MIPTV in Cannes and Cartoon Next in Marseille will also be held on the same days. At both events, Licensing Magazine will be present with its publication as Media Partner, with dedicated features.
The important events continue in May, with the Licensing Expo in Las Vegas from 21 to 23 May. The global licensing industry will meet at the Mandalay Bay to discover the latest industry news. Licensing Magazine will be there as Media Partner, with a new dedicated issue, distribution at the trade show through distribution bins and its own stand to meet friends and partners from the US market.
In early June everyone will be in Barcelona, Spain, for Europe’s leading retail event, Shoptalk Europe, where Licensing Magazine will be Media Partner for the first time. We are looking forward to attending this event which is unique in its format and very rich in terms of attendees, news and trends in the world of retail.
Also, between June and July, we are back to animation and children’s content features, with – in order – MIFA in Annecy, Pitti Uomo and Pitti Bimbo in Florence, closing the touring season before the summer break with the not-to-be-missed Children’s Media Conference in Sheffield, where we are always present to discover the evolution of child-friendly media.
After a well-deserved summer break, an even busier second half of the year is on the horizon, which we look forward to revealing to you in the near future!
