Kickstart Entertainment has tapped Nicole Rivera to build and manage its kids and family development slate.

Rivera will be tasked with developing animated and live-action projects, as well as seeking international co-production partnerships. Rivera will be based in Los Angeles.

Before joining Kickstart, Rivera was Vice President of Development at Cartoon Network Studios, working to identify and shepherd new animated series, including The Invincible Fight Girl and Jessica’s Big Little World. Her previous roles at Cartoon Network included time on the Content Acquisitions team and as Manager of Current Series, overseeing such hits as Steven UniverseClarence and the reimagined The Powerpuff Girls. Nicole’s ability to identify unique concepts and nurture them into successful productions has earned her a reputation as a talented and creator-friendly development executive.

I am thrilled to be joining Kickstart Entertainment,” said Rivera. “Their commitment to producing exceptional content that resonates with global families aligns perfectly with my own creative vision. I look forward to collaborating with the talented team at Kickstart and bringing captivating stories to life.”

We are delighted to have Nicole Rivera join our development department,” said Jason Netter, CEO of Kickstart Entertainment. “Her extensive experience and a keen eye for thoughtful storytelling fits wonderfully with our mission to produce high-quality and engaging television shows for worldwide audiences. We are confident that her expertise will elevate our creative vision and contribute to the expansion of Kickstart’s IP plans, including original as well as partnerships with brands and international partners.”

As Kickstart enters into its 25th year of business, Rivera joins recent hire and Global Head of Production Susan Corbin (Masters of the Universe, Barbie) as the company continues to build out its creative capabilities. With studios in Vancouver, Hong Kong, Suzhou and Mumbai, Kickstart is well-positioned to continue creating and producing global content for the current market environment. Kickstart is a trusted producer for some of the world’s biggest brands such as Barbie, Hot Wheels, Brown & Friends and in the non-kids space The Boys and Gen V. Kickstart continues to produce the Bentonville Film Festival, founded by Geena Davis and celebrating its 10th anniversary next June.
