In his role Hugh Baldwin will oversee the slate for After Bark, which will focus on content for older audiences, including mature animation projects and both scripted and unscripted live action.

Having spent 15 years leading the content and programming strategy for Nickelodeon in Australia and New Zealand and under the Paramount banner, Hugh was the head of programming for MTV, Nickelodeon, Comedy Central, Spike & 10Shake Kids.  At Nickelodeon, Hugh was the executive producer of two Logie-nominated series as well as multiple live music events and series.

Most recently, Hugh has been executive producer for PostMatch, a sport-focussed creative agency and production house as well as working as a private consultant for companies in the technology space.  Last year he produced the music video for Heart and Soul ̧ a new release from iconic Aussie band, Noiseworks.

Currently on the board of proptech company, Vennu, Hugh has sat on the board of Screen Tasmania and worked as a writer, producer, and journalist.

Flying Bark Productions’ CEO Barbara Stephen said, “We are thrilled to have someone of Hugh’s calibre joining the After Bark team.  We are intending to produce projects for audiences as they evolve from youth programming and seek out stories that reinforce their identities and better represent their world view.  To achieve this, we have started to work with emerging show-runners and Hugh’s programming experience working for the Viacom businesses is invaluable“.

After Bark’s Executive Producer of Development Hugh Baldwin said, “The After Bark slate represents an exciting new phase for Flying Bark Productions as it expands its production scope into live-action series and events for TV and streaming, as well as edgier animation projects.  It is such a great opportunity to be asked to forge this path for one of Australia’s most respected international production companies.  I look forward to uncovering projects from creators with a clear creative vision for adult audiences at the younger end of the spectrum”.

Flying Bark Productions announced its After Bark production arm last year – entirely focused on producing compelling and entertaining stories for older audiences including mature animation projects and scripted and unscripted live action genres.  After Bark was established to attract creator driven projects with a diverse representation of showrunners and an emphasis on locally focussed, global reaching stories. After Bark will draw on the company’s international network to attract global support for its new slate of projects.

Flying Bark has experienced significant growth of its domestic and international businesses over the past few years. Driven by success from its original I.P slate and the sustained demand for premium animation services including multi-series productions for Netflix, Marvel, Nickelodeon, LEGO, and Disney +. The bolstering of senior management positions is essential for realising the company’s goals for expanding production capacity.

Flying Bark Productions and After Bark is wholly owned by Studio 100 headquartered in Belgium.
