The London Studio has announced that it has received a UK business award and that two US publishers the company represents are finalists for seven Louie awards.
The London Studio was nominated for – and won – leading provider of Cards & Gifts at the SME News seventh annual UK Enterprise Awards in which the magazine for the UK’s small and medium-sized businesses honours the hardest-working companies in the UK.
But that’s not all. Fine Moments and Mossy Blue Paper, two admired US greeting card designers and publishers represented by The London Studio, have received seven nominations across several categories at the Louies.
Fine Moments has been recognised for its contemporary, graphic and witty designs and Mossy Blue Paper for its nature-inspired designs using traditional artistic mediums like watercolour and hand lettering. To underline the impressive achievement of both nominees they are far from being corporate giants: Fine Moments is a husband-and-wife team and Mossy Blue Paper a one-woman business!
Launched by the Greeting Card Association (GCA) in 1988, the prestigious Louie Awards, named after Louis Prang, who is credited with the birth of the US Christmas card, recognize the most outstanding greeting cards, invitations, and announcements marketed in the US during the previous calendar year.
The Louie Award Celebration takes place in San Francisco on Wednesday, April 26.
Founder and director of The London Studio, Soula Zavacopoulos, says: “Both of our partner companies nominated at the Louies are small, stylish and unmistakably original, a great boost to modestly sized businesses everywhere and further confirmation to us that we are working with two truly innovative companies. These nominations and our own win at the SME News UK Enterprise awards are a wonderful boost for the London Studio and its partners and show that we are making waves internationally.”
Awareness of The London Studio and its work for both its own brands and brands that it represents is growing fast. Its success in greeting cards and gifts now extends to a fast-growing list of international retailers and licensed publishers. It has also launched a number of specially created lifestyle brands appropriate for apparel, gifts, homeware, stationery and more.
