The Brigitte Bardot brand continues to create successful partnerships and charming products.
Brigitte Bardot embodies a positive sensuality that is at once authentic, daring and resolutely French. She reflects the wild beauty, carefree spirit, and joie de vivre of the 1950s to 1970s. During this period, Brigitte Bardot became a muse, a source of trends that have become must-haves in women’s wardrobes. She also influenced people’s minds; in love with her freedom, she played an important role in the empowerment of women. The brand celebrates all the facets of this icon, actress, singer, model and dancer, through unique licenses and collaborations.
The beginning of the year is punctuated by the launch of a limited-edition Brigitte Bardot x Pull&Bear capsule, a world-renowned Spanish brand. The ready-to-wear company has decided to pay tribute to BB by creating two exclusive pieces featuring visuals of Brigitte Bardot taken by the famous photographer Terry O’Neill: a 100% cotton white T-shirt and a grey mottled sweatshirt to wear on any occasion.
The Parisian icon also inspires French brands
With the success of the Brigitte Bardot x François Pinton collection launched at the end of 2021, the high eyewear craftsman since 1953 has just launched the new sunglasses model Buzios as well as new colours for the already iconic models: Paris, Madrague, Méribel and Cancun.
The Supplément d’A.M Paris brand has decided to expand its Brigitte Bardot range by offering weekend bags with revisited toile de Jouy-inspired prints played with bayadère stripes. These new coordinated models complete the range of stoles/pareos launched last summer.
The iconic Légende model from the Brigitte Bardot swimwear collection of the spring-summer 2022 season, which greatly appealed to the French press, is offered by the licensee in a trendy colour for this new 2023 collection: parma.
On the occasion of the 60th anniversary of Jean-Luc Godard’s film Contempt (licensed by Mr. Godard via his master licensee Studio Canal), the Irish artist Jean Curran, a specialist in color transfer printing and known for her extremely luminous works, will be exhibiting throughout the year in galleries in Paris, London and New York, the 13 prints of images taken from the film. It is a fitting tribute that coincides with the remastering of this 1963 movie, in which Brigitte Bardot plays the lead role, the sublime Camille. Contempt is considered a masterpiece in the New Wave cinematic movement.
Furthermore, autumn 2023 will see the launch of a new Brigitte Bardot ready-to-wear license; the collections bearing her name will reflect the interpretation of the style of the 50s, 60s and 70s through iconic pieces worn by this timeless figure, to imagine the dream wardrobe of today’s woman.
