Rubber Road hosts the online TUBBIES AWARDS, celebrating the world of its pop culture icons in the form of cosplaying rubber duck collectibles.
Rubber Road holds licenses for top names in entertainment including Lord of the Rings, Ghostbusters, Resident Evil, Stranger Things, Jurassic Park, Jaws, My Hero Academia to name a few. Under its design arm, Numskull Designs, Rubber Road created the TUBBZ brand, a range of collectible ducks, taking iconic characters from these franchises to give them a rather unusual makeover that has gone down a storm with fans.
Liam Taylor, Head of Partnerships & Development at Rubber Road, says: “TUBBZ is a really fun brand, and we have built up a great fan base since its inception 3 years ago. With over 200 iconic characters in the collection, a spin on the established entertainment awards was a fun way to engage with our growing community”.
TUBBZ fans were asked to cast their votes in the various categories such as Best Lookalike, Best Franchise, TUBBZ of the Year, Lifetime Achievement Award. As an incentive, one voter would be chosen to receive the much coveted, money-can’t-buy ‘GOLDEN TUBBZ’ award to add to their collection. Three more GOLDEN TUBBZ were up for grabs in the community awards namely, Best Poster, Best Video and Best Photograph.
