The cartoon characters are the only kids’ IP to participate in The Carnival of Avola.
The Carnival of Avola, one of the most famous and ancient festivals in Italy that dates back to the Middle Ages, celebrates its anniversary on February 16-21, 2023. It has reached its 60th edition this year and it remains true to a decades-long tradition that has always ensured a great success. The festivities begin on Fat Thursday with the parade of RE CARNEVALE, the symbol par excellence of this event.
The parade of floats and masked groups and characters, this year will include the only kids’ brand – Masha and the Bear.
This parade, that starts from the waterfront area, arrives at the historic center where Masha and Bear will be there to welcome children and their families for a fun and playful moment. Children also will have the chance to take a souvenir photo with the characters.
Sunday and Tuesday feature the parade of paper and flower floats and masked groups, while Monday features dialect poems recited by some authors. Tuesday evening concludes with the awards ceremony for the winners of the categories listed above, the big dance party and the burning of the CARNIVAL KING.
The non-ticketed event is expected to attract over 40 thousand visitors and promo support from national media coverages.
The mascottes appearance will be operated by SoLuna Eventi, Animaccord’s long-term Italian partner for Masha and the Bear non-ticketed entertainment activities and events. Masha and The Bear licensing program is managed in Italy by Maurizio Distefano Licensing agency.
Moreover, Soluna scheduled a range of other activations with the brand including arts & crafts creative laboratory and Meet&Greet in Fiumicino on the same dates in February, as well as shopping mall event in Ipercity Padova on April 5-7, 2023.
