siku presents its finely detailed model dedicated to the most famous minibus ever: the VW T1.
The VW T1, lovingly known as the Bulli by fans of all ages. This minibus has become a cult car. The first VW Bus T1 was launched in Wolfsburg in 1950, and today collectors and enthusiasts pay record six-figure sums for the original mid-range transporter.
Siku proposed its own interpretation of the VW T1 this year. In addition to the ‘basic’ model, siku presented a black, dynamic, old school model with printed flames in homage to the legendary art of custom bodywork.
The siku T1 Transporter Custom is a surprisingly heavy model, because a large part of this model car is made of metal – plastic is only used occasionally and for a specific purpose, for example for the vehicle interior and roof.
The chassis of the Bulli has been lowered to create a more sporty driving feel, and the look has become extra-cool, thanks to the extraordinary wheels with wide tyres. The double doors on the passenger side can be opened and reveal a view of the vehicle interior. there is also a tow hitch.
The underside of the cult transporter is painted matt black, while from the centre line upwards the minivan is painted gloss black. The black rims look really wild and match the old school look, which is consumed by the burning flames running in red/orange/yellow along both sides of the bus. Together with the ‘Oldschool Custom’ logo print, this T1 is simply legendary!
