The prestigious Bologna Licensing Awards are back in the setting of the Bologna Licensing Trade Fair, in the heart of the Bologna Children’s Book Fair, with a new exceptional jury.
This is the sixth edition for the Bologna Licensing Awards, the only award of its kind in Italy and an important recognition in the licensing panorama, open to all operators in the sector.
With this new edition also comes a new jury: five jurors, experts in the sector and profound connoisseurs of the animation, publishing, licensing, and children’s content worlds. Let’s see who ate the members of the jury.
David Kleeman

David Kleeman
The first name is David Kleeman – strategist, analyst, author, speaker and connector. For more than 35 years, he has guided the children’s media industry to increase the development of sustainable, and child-friendly practices.
Kleeman got his start in the industry when he was appointed President of the American Center for Children and Media, and is now Senior Vice President of Global Trends for Dubit, a strategy/research consultancy and metaverse studio.
David is advisory board chair to the PRIX JEUNESSE, on the board of the Children’s Media Association and the Advisory Board of the Joan Ganz Cooney Center. He was a Senior Fellow of the Fred Rogers Center and Board Vice President for the National Association for Media Literacy Education.
David looks worldwide for best practices in children’s entertainment and learning. He has spoken (and, more important, listened!) on six continents and writes extensively for varied audiences.
Helena Mansell-Stopher

Helena Mansell-Stopher
Helena Mansel-Stopher is the second juror of the Licensing Awards. CEO and founder of Products of Change, she curates the sustainability in licensing conference (SILC) the first of its kind in the brand and licensing industry, formed to advance the industries knowledge on future innovations within the sustainability space.
Helena is an advisor to the United Nations Conscious Fashion and Lifestyle Initiative and Board Director to Recycle to Read.
With a 26 year career in the licensing industry across media and lifestyle brands, working with companies such as HIT Entertainment, Mattel, Marvel and National Geographic, as well as a 6 year career in sustainability, Helena is at the cutting edge of closing the knowledge gap to advance the industry forward to a sustainable future.
Ivan Colecchia

Ivan Colecchia
The third name is Ivan Colecchia, SVP International Development of The Insights Family. Through his work, he has led the company to expand to operate in 22 international markets, with over 100 clients, including: Amazon, BBC, Hasbro, Paramount and Warner Media.
Prior to joining The Insights Family, Colecchia has over 25 years of experience in worldwide family market research, spending time in the US, Europe and Asia across many different business areas. He is an appreciated expert in the family brand space and has been a keynote speaker at many international licensing conferences and events.
Jutta C. Breyer

Jutta C. Breyer
Jutta C. Breyer, the fourth juror, has been Managing Director of License Factory GmbH since 2014. With more than 30 years of experience in marketing and production of textiles, considering and analyzing global trade and culture-specific conditions.
As a person who is extremely devoted to nature and the earth, it quickly becomes clear to her that action must be taken in India if there is to be a future worth living for future generations, whether in Europe, India or elsewhere in the world. Together with a committed team of scientists and manufacturers, techniques to produce natural color dyes from barks, plants, minerals, etc. are then taken up and further developed.
The own brand “LIQUID” is founded, which focuses exclusively on the production and development of naturally dyed textiles / clothing made of conventional or organic cotton in India.
Susanna Iraci

Susanna Iraci
The fifth name on the jury is Susanna Iraci, an Italian industrial designer graduated from Milan’s Polytechnic, who initial work has gravitated around sustainability and service design. It was only after a few roller coaster rides and becoming a mother that she decided to shift the focus of her career and head back to school, to enroll in the Master in Design for Kids and Toys at Poli.design.
That lead to the start of design studio BICCO, a creative space dedicated to design for kids. Sometimes, with kids too!
Enthusiastic designer, child at heart, avid tea drinker, bookworm and a language – nerd. She likes to seek beauty in the details while working for clients big and small.
All the jurors of the Bologna Licensing Awards will not only be present at the Fair to present the award to the winners, but will also be present and share their know-how during the Interna conference to be held from 6 to 8 March in the heart of the Bologna Licensing Trade Fair/Kids.
