Route One Apparel has reached an official licensee agreement with Morton Salt, Inc. and revealed its first products featuring the iconic Morton Umbrella Girl.
With this agreement, Morton Salt joins Hershey, Old Bay, Domino Sugar and others in Route One Apparel’s family of national brands as the company continues to expand its reach beyond the local market.
Morton Salt originated in Chicago in 1848 and rose to prominence as the California Gold Rush drove demand for salt nationwide. The Morton Umbrella Girl first appeared in advertising for the Morton Salt Company in 1911 and today remains one of America’s most recognizable brand mascots.
Just in time for the holiday season, Route One Apparel has released the first products from its new Morton Salt collection, including short- and long-sleeve t-shirts, hoodies and caps. All products are now available to pre-order online.
“Throughout our history, Route One Apparel has been fortunate to have the opportunity to collaborate with iconic national brands and create new designs featuring some of the most recognizable and beloved logos and mascots“, said Ali von Paris, CEO and founder of Route One Apparel. “We are thrilled to welcome Morton Salt to our licensee family and to become part of the Morton Umbrella Girl’s storied history“.
“Morton continues to reimagine our consumer products through standout fashion merchandise collaborations that capture the essence of our Morton brand and the iconic Morton Umbrella Girl“, says Kristin Edstrom, Sr. Brand Licensing Manager, Morton Salt, Inc. “Route One Apparel’s Morton merchandise features both vintage and modern Morton designs that will appeal to new and existing Morton consumers alike“.
