Pokémon’s colourful and distinctive characters and broad global appeal make it the perfect brand for fashion collaborations
Since the brand celebrated its 25th anniversary with record-breaking sales across many areas of the business, global fashion brands like Uniqlo, H&M, Converse and Levi’s have embraced the gaming phenomenon, producing fashion and clothing items with innovative, fashion-forward and fun designs.
Pokémon also has an extremely strong and growing relationship with Inditex’s international range of fashion retailers including Bershka, Zara, Pull & Bear and Lefties.
At Bershka a new adult collection – POKEMON by BERSHKA – was launched in April this year, with strong support across Bershka’s social and online platforms, featuring a unique and distinctive range of designs across t-shirts, sweaters, hoodies, trainers, shorts jeans and hats.
Fashion giant Zara has a Pokémon children’s range which is updated every year and sees Pikachu and his friends emblazoned across t-shirts, sweatshirts, hoodies, shorts and pyjamas for boys and its first girls range launched in March with more items due to be released across the year.
And new for this year, Lefties will launch new collections of kids and adults ranges which will launch in the flagship stores and across their e-commerce sites across 2022.
Mathieu Galante, Licensing Director EMEA The Pokémon Company International said: “Pokémon has become a true fashion icon. From high end to high street, it inspires desirable apparel and accessories with great collectability, ensuring consistently strong retail sales.”
