WARNERMEDIA EMEA ACQUIRES TEAMTO’S JADE ARMOR

6 Apr - 2022

WarnerMedia Kids & Family EMEA acquires TeamTO’s action comedy series JADE ARMOR

TeamTO, one of Europe’s leading creators in kids entertainment, is pleased to announce the sale of broadcast rights of its original action-comedy animated series Jade Armor (26 x 22) to WarnerMedia Kids & Family EMEA.

Jade Armor was previously acquired by WarnerMedia Kids & Family in the US, ensuring a premium platform placement for the maverick martial arts animated series in the US and Latin American markets. As part of Cartoon Network’s commitment to broadcasting more animation that appeals to girls, Jade Armor will join the kids and family lineup available on HBO Max and Cartoon Network in EMEA later this year.

Zia Bales, Lead Acquisitions, Partnerships and Coproductions, Kids EMEA, WarnerMedia said, “Jade Armor’s central character, Lan Jun is the embodiment of girl power – a female superhero balancing her newfound responsibilities with the demands of teenage life. We’re excited to bring this strong female lead to HBO Max and Cartoon Network in EMEA, broadening our appeal with girls and demonstrating our commitment to European content.”

TEAMTO Executive Producer Corinne Kouper added, “Cartoon Network has always been known for its exciting, action-packed and funny series, so we are delighted that Jade Armor will be a headliner for girl-led characters in this genre. HBO Max and Cartoon Network are the ideal partners and platforms to bring our spirited Jade character to life across the globe.”

Jade Armor features a talented all-female creative team and centers around the martial arts-loving Lan Jun, an unlikely teenage heroine who must learn the ancient secrets of her family and uncover the unexpected, all while navigating life as a teen.

Jade Armor is produced by Europe’s leading kids entertainment company, TeamTO with broadcast partners in France, France Télévisions, and in Germany, SUPER RTL. Multi-award winning executive producer Corinne Kouper is supported by an all-female creative team including showrunner and co-creator, Chloé Miller; head writer, MJ Offen; French story editor, Ghyslaine Pujol, and co-developer, Mary Bredin.

Jade Armor is based on a concept by M Pongo Kuo.
