The Original Stormtrooper licensing programme from Shepperton Design Studios is expanding into new categories, territories and worlds in 2022. Categories launching that embody the fun and flexibility of this globally recognisable intergenerational character include Fred & Ginger’s Original Stormtrooper Dog Treats: the perfect way to train the alien Rebel in your house, Galactic Empire’s Stormtrooper Coffee: the best brew in the galaxy, Gibsons Troopers on Tour jigsaw puzzle and Groovy UK’s Stormtrooper beach towels: keeping the sand out of your armour.
New territories and sub-agents include Australia (Merchantwise) and South Korea (Joon International) with plush, arts and crafts and apparel licensees launching in 2022. Finally, the Original Stormtrooper licensing programme is entering the metaverse with a complete range of exclusive NFT’s soon to launch on multiple platforms.
Adam Bass, Director of Licensing Consultancy Golden Goose said, “Because of our great new graphics and the consistent emphasis on fun and humour, existing licensees have seen strong growth in sales. It’s great to be able to say that the year ahead is looking very promising.” Shepperton Design Studios Director Andrew Ainsworth added, “Now in its sixth year the Original Stormtrooper is going from strength to strength, with lockdown seemingly making this licensing programme even more desirable than it was before.”
The brand’s next target is retail domination and potential licensees can now book an encounter at BLE on stand C200.
