Firefly Brand Management is proud to announce that it has signed with Haylett Entertainment, LLC to be the exclusive North American licensing agent for the highly popular and recently Emmy® nominated children’s Holiday animated special “Piney: The Lonesome Pine.”
Commencing immediately Firefly will seek licensing partners in all top product categories for the touching holiday special. Based on the book The Lonesome Pine, written and self-published by Jane West Bakerink. “Piney: The Lonesome Pine” features the story of a cheerful Welsh girl who grows a talking pine named “Piney” to be her Christmas tree, but when he’s accidentally removed from her grandfather’s Christmas tree farm, the girl and her grandpa frantically search to get him home before Christmas. Piney’s unexpected journey is filled with love, hope and inspiration.
“We are excited to be part of what is certain to be the next ‘Christmas Classic’” noted Cynthia Modders, President Firefly Brand Management. “For years this space has been very complacent with the usual traditional holiday programs. With “Piney: The Lonesome Pine”, we have something new, fresh and exciting set to take the world by Christmas Storm! The special has now secured 67 countries and continues to dominate this coveted time of year.” The animated special premiered in the U.S. in December 2020 and ran through January 2021 on Disney Junior, The Disney Channel, and the DisneyNOW app and is set to return on the channels for this year’s 2021 holiday season through the 2024 season.
“We are thrilled to have Firefly on board representing the Piney brand. It was an instant connection of the hearts and minds,” said Jane West Bakerink, writer, Co-President of Haylett Entertainment, LLC.
“Piney: The Lonesome Pine” was recently nominated for a 2020-2021 Daytime Emmy for Sir Jonathan Pryce’s role as Grandpa Sid – category was for Outstanding Performer for an Animated Daytime Program.
