Brigitte Bardot X François Pinton, iconic sunglasses made in France
François Pinton Paris, craftsman of fine eyewear since 1953, has collaborated with the worldwide Master Licensee of Brigitte Bardot to launch a capsule of iconic sunglasses made in France. Maison François Pinton, who is sensitive to legendary personalities, pays tribute to the Brigitte Bardot myth through models evoking key places and moments of BB.’s life.
François Pinton has developed a unique collection of sunglasses that combines past with modernity. Models shapes and names are inspired by places that shaped the life of BB.:
- “Cancun”, recalls Brigitte Bardot’s stay in Yucatan (Mexico) during the press presentation of the film “Viva Maria” by Louis Malle in 1965,
- “Paris”, a square oversized frame that catches the eye and refers to the hometown of BB.,
- “Madrague” is a tribute to Brigitte Bardot’s peaceful haven on the French Riviera, that her future husband Gunter Sachs will cover in rose petals to declare his love to her in 1966.
- At last, the “Meribel” frame gets its inspiration from the French Alps winter resort where BB. goes every winter in the 60s and 70s.
Available since October 5th on francoispinton.com, the Brigitte Bardot X François Pinton collection will also be offered in optic shops and in its concept stores around the world; prices vary between 298€ and 389€.
Careful details: riveted hinges, Italian acetates, hot stamping, … and the initials BB. elegantly engraved: each Brigitte Bardot X François Pinton model is a master piece. The making of one single spectacle can sometimes need up to twelve different skills: draughtsman, model maker, setter, polisher…each of them requiring technicity, meticulousness, passion and as many professionals. The Brigitte Bardot X François Pinton sunglasses are handmade from Italian cellulose acetate. This hypoallergenic material, made from cotton, has the particularity of being flexible without deforming itself which gives it great durability. The glasses in acetate have also the widest range of transparency, of rich colours and finishing touches.
