The Alessandro Enriquez spring-summer 2022 collection is an imaginary journey through the Mediterranean together with two great icons: Ken and Barbie
Mattel entrusted Alessandro Enriquez with the “Enriquezian” interpretation of Barbie and Ken, for a pop apparel capsule with a very Italian flavour. A collection of dolls customised with looks from the brand’s Spring Summer 2022 season has been created for the latest Fashion Week, to send a clear message of equality and inclusion, ENRIQUEZ DIVERSITY, which takes shape on the famous dolls through the use of Alessandro’s colour and prints.
The Alessandro Enriquez Spring-Summer 2022 collection is an imaginary journey through the Mediterranean, with Italian notes, French boutadas, Spanish smiles and Greek sunsets enjoyed in the company of two great icons: Ken (who turns 60) and Barbie, with whom we immerse ourselves in a world of colour, genderless, suitable for everyone.
3 Barbie and 3 Ken, multi-ethnic and with different physiognomies and builds, are immortalised in moments of carefree holiday by the artist Alberto Alicata, and were displayed in a travelling photographic exhibition at Giacomo Milano restaurants last September 23rd, and at the Milanese Department Store, of the Biffi group, for all the period of the fashion week.
Barbie and Ken Fashionistas is the line that reflects the diversity and inclusivity driven spirit of the brand. Barbie, through this line, has introduced more than 175 looks, offering children an incredible variety of skin tones, eye colours, hair styles, body shapes and fashions to choose from. The diversity represented within the Fashionistas line offers children the opportunity to expand their horizons within their playtime, making it the most inclusive doll line available and one that best meets the needs of the youngest children.
The itinerary of the Alessandro Enriquez collection takes shape and develops among flavours, colours and fragrances: the bougainvillea that populates the sunny coasts of beloved Sicily, the explosion of joy of the Spanish “holidays” where people dance flamenco toasting with sangria, the French croisette with its intense blue tones and the landscapes of the Cyclades islands, which are the frames for summer kisses.
Unisex printed shirts and Hawaiian shirts are a must-have in the Enriquez collections, and have become a must-have to match with printed silk skirts or trousers.
Long flounced dresses, all in all-over prints, a mix of pleats and asymmetrical constructions of ruffles of different sizes, denim-style jackets in printed douchesse and, new this season, one-colour cady suits, jacket and trousers in a masculine cut for a more androgynous look with vitamin colours.
