From 13th September for an exclusive preview on Rai Play and from 27th September for the first time on Rai Yoyo
From the pen of Nicoletta Costa, the famous children’s author and illustrator with over 500 illustrated books published in Italy and around the world, and from the producers of “Francesco”, the most viewed Italian animation work in 2020 on Rai networks, comes the long-awaited animated series Nina & Olga, co-produced by Enanimation and Mondo TV Producciones Canarias S.L. – Nina Y Olga A.I.E. in collaboration with Rai Ragazzi.
Thanks to the exclusive premiere on RaiPlay, from September 13th the first 26 episodes will be available on all digital supports from which the Rai platform can be accessed, and will then be premiered on Rai Yoyo from September 27th at 8.00, 11.25 and 16.30 with a double episode.
One of Nicoletta Costa’s best-loved characters for young readers, thanks to the historical titles of EMME edizioni, a worldwide publishing success for over 30 years, Nuvola Olga now comes to life in a unique animated series, consisting of 52 episodes of 7 minutes each, with the artistic direction of the creator herself.
For the Nina & Olga TV series, Enanimation, an award-winning film production and distribution company based in Turin, has developed a new character, a very curious little girl with a head full of hedgehogs who lives in the Underside, who will be best friends with the white Cloud Olga.
Nina is a sweet 6-year-old girl who, together with her school friend and friend Teo, will have countless adventures with Olga. One day, in fact, looking down, Olga, who lives in the World Above together with the Sun, the Moon and the Grigione aunts, sees Nina chasing her hat and decides to come down and help her. This is the beginning of a great friendship.
With fun and naturalness, throughout the series the two protagonists will accompany the children in small daily challenges, holding their hands and learning together to understand and manage their emotions.
Realised in 2D digital animation, the direction of Nina & Olga has been entrusted to Lisa Arioli, already co-director of the recent medium-length film on the life of Saint Francis “Francesco”, produced by Enanimation and Rai Ragazzi. The writing direction is by the English author Steve Middleton and the music is by the award-winning musician Luigi Meroni, who worked for years at Hans’s Zimmer Media Ventures. The concept of the series was created by Nicoletta Costa and Stefania Raimondi, while the executive producers are Federica Maggio and Maria Bonaria Fois.
“The Cloud Olga was the first character I invented. I invented her for myself, when I was still an architecture student and didn’t know I was going to write children’s books. I am very excited to see her now flying on the small screen with her friend Nina,” said Nicoletta Costa.
Enanimation, which since 2003 has been involved in national and international productions and co-productions of quality animated audiovisual products, together with Mondo TV Producciones Canarias S.L. and Nina Y Olga A.I.E., has created this new cartoon with the aim of creating a series that can be considered an evergreen, a reference point for pre-school children, in which the strength and trait of Nuvola Olga and her creator Nicoletta Costa emerge.
Contributing to this ambitious objective is the valuable partnership with Mondadori – Children’s Book Division. In fact, the publishing group is launching, to coincide with the debut of the television series, six books dedicated to this new title, two of which have been written by author Nicoletta Costa: Nina & Olga. Amiche Speciali and Nina & Olga. Alla scoperta di lettere e numeri, in bookshops from 7 September. In particular, the book Nina & Olga. Amiche Speciali recounts the prologue to what will happen in the television series, namely the magical moment when Cloud Olga meets Nina for the first time and then becomes inseparable friends.
The new animated and editorial series will accompany children aged 3 to 6 years into the rich world of emotions, surprising them with their authentic poetry and imaginative quality.
