Here’s what’s new for the little ones (and more!)
September is the time to take a look at the good news that the new season brings in the world of animation. Let’s see what ForFun Media, the main Italian animation network including Studio Bozzetto, Movimenti, MoBo and DogHead, have in store for children, and not only for them.
Above all, “The Game Catchers”, the new animated series (52×7.5′) aimed at children aged 3 to 5. Created by Studio Bozzetto, it will be aired for the first time in Italy on RAI YOYO by the end of the year. This new series, which combines 2D/3D digital animation, tells the story of a group of friends and their interstellar journeys to discover fantastic planets with the aim of learning about new toys and the way to collect them all. Engaging games, intergalactic adventures and team spirit are the basis of this new product that aims to bring children closer to traditional backyard games, which have unfortunately been almost completely abandoned today. A unique series of its kind and an Italian-Canadian production. The series is in fact co-produced with Sardine Productions.
After the great success of the album “Summer Baby Dance”, the collaboration between Carolina Benvenga, Italian children’s favourite TV presenter, and the funniest little mouse in the underwood, Tip – the main protagonist of Studio Bozzetto animated tv series, Tip the Mouse – continues, ready to be back on TV with new adventures and baby dances. The 3D/live action series (10×7′) “Carolina and Topo Tip: tell me a story” is ready to be aired on Rai YOYO, combining the best of baby dance, compelling stories and the curious and adventurous spirit of Tip the Mouse.
Topo Gigio Srl and Movimenti Production are working on the production of the second season of Topo Gigio, winner of the prestigious “Pulcinella Awards” as best pre-school series and “Moige Award” in 2020. A great return for one of the characters that made the history of Italian television and not only. The new season – after the ratings success of the first 52 episodes and an articulated licensing plan with Giochi Preziosi as Master Toy Licensee – will tell the daily adventures of the first mouse to live in the world of humans.
Also, the second season of Loup – the Wolf is on air on Rai Gulp, produced by Movimenti in co-production with Samka Productions, which tells the adventures of Loup, a wolf who transforms his daily life into a fantastic adventure thanks to its imagination. MOBO is also working on Mini-Heroes of the Forest, a pre-school series based on the books of the French publisher, Auzou.
For an adult audience, they are working on a brand-new animated project “Strappare lungo i bordi”, the Netflix original Italian animated series written and directed by Zerocalcare, pseudonym of the famous Italian cartoonist Michele Rech (his comics are translated in several countries), produced by Movimenti Production in collaboration with BAO Publishing, the Italian publisher of Zero Calcare. It’s a big challenge for the comics artist Zerocalcare – who for the first time tries his hand at an animation series – and which will be set in the author’s well-known fictional universe.
An AMAZING autumn awaits us!
