Global Merchandising Services selected KOPA as its agent for Latin America to identify and develop licensing opportunities
Global Merchandising Services (GMS), the world’s largest independent entertainment merchandiser, recently selected KOPA as its agent for Latin America to identify and develop licensing opportunities in Mexico, Central America, Colombia, Ecuador and Peru.
The vast roster of Global Merchandising Services includes the most attractive figures in rock, such as Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Motörhead, Ozzy Osbourne, Mötley Crüe, Scorpions, Slayer, Megadeth, Alice Cooper, Rob Zombie and Lenny Kravitz, along with pop icons, like Backstreet Boys.
Despite the difficulties generated by the pandemic, the market response, both from manufacturers and retailers, has been very positive. Within just six months from the time KOPA was appointed, two licensees have already been signed, Toxic in Mexico and Textiles Arval in Peru and Ecuador, whose collections will be available by the end of 2021.
For Carlos Carvajal, Managing Director of KOPA, who since his youth has been a huge fan of classic rock, being able to represent his favorite bands now, makes the association with GMS a dream come true and professional achievement.
“We are delighted to work with Carlos Carvajal and KOPA”, said José Santiago, International Licensing Manager at Global Merchandising Services. “It is a great opportunity to grow and continue to develop our client’s business in Mexico, Central America, Colombia, Ecuador and Peru.”
KOPA will be in Medellin, Colombia, from July 27th to 29th, presenting GMS’s roster at ColombiaTex + ColombiaModa 2021.
