The new Miraculous Shanghai TV special beats French TV station TF1’s historic record, achieving a momentous 58.4% audience share. Disney + has acquired the global rights, including for series currently in production
Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug and Cat Noir, the animated series created by ZAG and co-produced with ON Kids & Family continues to reap success around the world. According to Parrot Analytics data, the series was listed among the Top 10 most popular TV shows on Netflix in the U.S.
The TV premiere of Miraculous Shanghai – The Legend of Lady Dragon beat TF1’s historic audience rating record with an audience of 1.3 million viewers, achieving a 58.4% share among 4-10 year old boys and girls and 32.5% of the female audience. The 4th season of the series launched on 11 April on TF1 and was another massive success, achieving a 47.7% audience share among 4-10 year old boys and girls.
Thanks to the series’ universal popularity, Disney+ (which has over 100 million subscribers) has acquired the global rights (except for Brazil, Korea and China) including for series four and five, which will launch respectively in 2021 and 2022.
The fourth season of the series will drop on Disney Spain and Portugal in mid-May. The Miraculous animated theatrical feature film will start to roll out at the end of 2021. This film is a ZAG, ON Kids & Family and Planeta Junior coproduction with a production budget of $100MM+.
