DIC 2 AND MAYA STUDIO TOGETHER FOR THE LAUNCH OF SUPERMASKED AND CATRINAS UNDERWORLD IN ITALY

4 May - 2021

Tags from the story: CATRINAS UNDERWORLD, SUPERMASKED.

The Spanish graphics studio has signed an agreement with the historic Italian licensing agency for the development of its two flagship properties.

Catrinas Underworld is a female graphic series, centered on the world of the Catrinas, the guardians of the afterlife who protect our world from evil spirits. Focused on the bright colors of the “dia de los muertos”, it has two very beautiful style guides full of ideas; one dedicated to girls in school while the other dedicated to adults, with several very captivating fashion suggestions. The property already has several licensees in Spain: Panini for publishing, Cife for the fashion dolls, Reigh for the musical instruments, CYD for the BTS, MY Other Me for the costumes. On the adult target El Corte Ingles has developed a beautiful clothing line while Saba has created products dedicated to feminine hygiene. All products have had excellent distribution success with islands dedicated to Walmart and Mercadona.

Supermasked instead is a very fun male property based on slightly crazy masked superheroes who go to school to learn how to control their superpowers. There are characters like Pepperman, with a very fiery character, Bigpony with his “atomic burp” or Captain Nugget the frustrated superhero, etc. Lots of characters that will be the subject of a web series scheduled on YouTube starting from June 2021 and of various products already licensed including toys by Eolo Toys (Q4 21) and newsstand products by Panini (Q1 22).
