A new generation of ponies is ready to conquer today’s children ( and past ones).
After a decade of adventure, friendship and endless laughter, the world of MY LITTLE PONY expands to introduce a new generation of ponies to a new generation of fans.
With even more humor, excitement and adventure, children will fall in love with the new pony crew and their magical world – portrayed in a more contemporary and relevant way than ever before: not only in terms of storytelling but also graphically. In fact, for the first time, we will see our favorites in CGI animation.
The film, produced by Cecil Kramer and Peter Lewis will be seen exclusively on the Netflix platform with a world premiere on Fall 2021.
The story begins once again in Equestria, but this time the situation is critical: the pony world has lost its magic. Friendship and harmony have been replaced by fear and mistrust that has led the different species of ponies to live separated from each other.
Sunny, an exuberant and idealistic young “Pony-Terrestrial”, is convinced that there is still hope for this divided world… but her inexperienced and often hilarious efforts to change the hearts and minds of her fellow citizens have not been successful so far, leading her to be considered only a “dreamer” by her entire community.
Sunny befriends a lost unicorn named Izzy, who innocently wanders in Maretime Bay, the town of the Terrestrial Ponies. The town is not going to be welcoming to this unusual friendship.
Izzy and Sunny are then forced to escape and embark on an epic adventure that will feature them in a bold jewel heist, conspiracies, and exciting musical performances.
Their adventures will take them to faraway lands and make them face their fears with the precious help of new friends who until then were considered enemies. The world Sunny has dreamed of all her life may finally become a reality, proving that even SMALL ponies can make a BIG difference.
The adventures of Sunny and his friends, however, are not over. We will see our ponies again in a brand new animated series to be aired next year on Netflix, where you can also watch all 9 seasons of the classic series Friendship is Magic.
A further extension of the Franchise is the animated series MY LITTLE PONY: PONY LIFE, featuring Twilight Sparkle, Pinkie Pie and the rest of the well-known group of ponies in a completely new graphic and animation style. The wild characters’ comedy will be the main element of the series.
The six friends at Sugarcube Corner will get into an endless series of troubles while trying to serve delicious cupcakes to the best customers in the world: their friends!
The series airing on Boomerang and Cartoonito consists of 40 episodes of 11 minutes each.
The licensing program is also full of news: a refresh and extensions of the product range, a brand new Hasbro toy line and a robust publishing plan will be launched simultaneously with the release of the film in September 2021.
