DISNEY+ CONTINUES ITS INTERNATIONAL EXPANSION

Disney+, the highly anticipated streaming service of The Walt Disney Company, arrives in Portugal, Norway, Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Iceland, Belgium and Luxembourg

With hundreds of movies, exclusive Original Movies and series, and thousands of episodes of Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, National Geographic and more, Disney+ is the home of streaming some of the most beloved stories in the world.

We have more than 60.5 million subscribers worldwide and today we continue our international expansion with the launch of Disney+ in eight countries. As one of the world’s largest direct-to-consumer players, we are bringing the high-quality storytelling expected of our brands to more and more people,” said Rebecca Campbell, Chairman of Walt Disney Direct-to-Consumer and International.

Subscribers can view Disney+ Originals titles, including three Emmy-nominated series: The Mandalorian, Star Wars’ first epic live-action series; The World According to Jeff Goldblum, National Geographic’s docuserie; and Behind the Scenes at Disney Parks: The Imagineering Story, a six-part documentary directed by Emmy and Oscar-nominated director Leslie Iwerks.

Other Disney+ Originals titles available include: Marvel’s Hero Project, celebrating extraordinary kids who make a difference in their communities; Encore!, featuring the talented Kristen Bell as executive producer; and Pixar Animation Studios’ collection of animated shorts SparkShorts and Forky’s I Perche.

Disney+ is also the new streaming home of the iconic animated series The Simpsons, with over 600 episodes available on-demand for the first time together. The first 30 seasons are now available, while season 31 will arrive on the platform by the end of the year.

From today, audiences in these eight countries can watch Disney+ streaming on most mobile devices and connected TV. Subscribers can enjoy uninterrupted viewing, up to 4 simultaneous streams, unlimited downloads on 10 devices, personalized viewing suggestions, and the ability to create up to 7 different profiles, including the opportunity for parents to set up profiles for children to access only content appropriate to their age.

Users can subscribe to Disney+ directly from DisneyPlus.com  or by in-app purchase from:

  • Apple (iPhone, iPad, iPod touch and Apple TV, and fully integrated with the Apple TV app)
  • Google (Android phones, Android TV devices, integrated Google Chromecast and Chromecast devices, except Iceland and Greenland)
  • Amazon (Fire TV devices, Fire TV Edition smart TV, and Fire Tablet only in Luxembourg).

Subscribers can also access the Disney+ app via smart TVs, including LG webOS and Samsung Smart TVs, game consoles including Microsoft Xbox One and Sony PlayStation 4 and via web browser. The full list of supported devices is available at help.disneyplus.com.
