Important news for Pippi Longstocking on the occasion of her 75th birthday celebration
Pantone Color Institute has joined the celebrations for Pippi Longstocking‘s 75th birthday by creating a special color dedicated to the irresistible little girl with freckles: a bright shade of orange, which recalls the bright color of Pippi’s braids.
Pantone Color Institute also participates in Save The Children and The Astrid Lindgren Company’s campaign to support girls fleeing war and poverty. The aim is to help them become strong and independent women, able to build a safer world for themselves, taking the strong and brave Pippi as their model.
The Association of Independent Bookshops for Children, ALIR, organized for June 25th at 5:00 pm, in collaboration with Accademia Drosselmeier – school for booksellers and literature study centre for children -, the event: Pippi and the others – Homage to Pippi and the girls of the North.
A meeting to celebrate Pippi Longstocking, 75 years after the first publication. Pippi has influenced generations of girls and still remains a model for the new girls of the North who inhabit the shelves of bookshops and libraries.
