Disney Italy launches Disney Magic Moments and a musical project in support of the Italian Red Cross

Disney Italy launches DisneymagicMoments.it, the new site created as part of the global initiative Disney Magic Moments with the aim of bringing Disney magic into the homes of families, through entertainment content of various kinds.

The new site will also be the collection point for a musical entertainment project created by Disney Italy in support of the Italian Red Cross, which opens with an exclusive performance by Francesca Michielin. The project will consist of a collection of videos in which Italian artists and talents interpret their favorites from the soundtracks of Disney movies, with the aim of creating a magical moment of sharing for families and making their contribution to make this moment better.

Daniel Frigo, Country Manager and Head of Studio Distribution Italia & TIG said: “We are delighted with this initiative that has allowed us to be close to Italian families and to embrace a rich and positive message such as that of the Italian Red Cross. Now more than ever, sharing significant moments with loved ones takes on a fundamental value and we are proud to be able to do our part by providing the magic of our stories and characters“.

To kick off this new initiative Francesca Michielin, one of the most interesting artists on the music scene, who has always made respect and comparison important values to transmit to her audience. “Mulan is one of my favorite characters from the Disney world, of great inspirationsays the singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist.She fights in her father’s place and saves China, I consider her an icon of strength and independence“.

This activity, as well as providing entertainment, wants to support the work of the Italian Red Cross, with particular attention to the association’s commitment to transform this period into the “Time of Kindness” as the CRI has called it since the beginning of the Covid-19 emergency, including in this definition a series of services for the most fragile people who, with the health emergency in progress, found themselves isolated. The Italian Red Cross has therefore strengthened services in favour of the most vulnerable people such as home delivery of medicines and groceries, distribution of food parcels and shopping vouchers, psychological support.  It is also the framework within which the CRI is gathering all the gestures of collaboration, love and kindness through which to be close to those in need. Anyone can give their contribution, ranging from volunteering to entertainment, as happens for the talents involved in the Disney Magic Moments project. The connection between the Disney Italy project and the Italian Red Cross takes place through the voice of the talent: the musical performances are preceded by a message inviting users to discover the time of kindness and the possibilities to be part of it by visiting the website of the Italian Red Cross.

There are several values and aspects that make us feel close to Disney Italy: bringing relief to families through gestures of kindness and sharing is definitely one of them” commented Francesco Rocca President of the Italian Red Cross. “It is no coincidence that Walt Disney himself was a Red Cross volunteer. We are happy to collaborate for this activity and we hope it will be an inspiration for those who want to give their contribution and be part of ‘An Italy That Helps‘”.

The videos, published on Disney Italy social profiles (Instagram and Facebook), will be available on DisneyMagicMoments.it where families can find entertainment for all tastes, from tutorials to draw Disney characters to make up tips inspired by animated movies, from coloring drawings and some animated shorts starring the most beloved characters of all time, such as the funny Olaf.
