Italy’s most popular theme park is back in style with attractions, characters and new themed areas to offer fun, relaxation and fun in total safety
The long-awaited date for all children has finally arrived: Saturday, June 20th, Leolandia, the kingdom of magic at the gates of Milan, reopens!
Under the motto “a SAFELY fun experience”, the most popular park in Italy according to TripAdvisor is back in style with attractions, themed areas and all its very nice characters, ready to offer unforgettable moments of fun, relaxation and fun in total safety.
There are lots of surprises in store for visitors to Leolandia, starting with the highly anticipated PJ Masks City, a new themed area entirely dedicated to them, a cartoon that is a champion of ratings in Italy and abroad. Just cross the threshold of PJ Masks City to get into the heart of the TV series, visit the iconic places and relive the adventures of its protagonists. For example, you will be able to fly aboard the Gufaliante around the legendary Headquarters, and then feel like real superheroes in the Playground and meet Catboy, Gekko and Owlette live in the Museum.
The new PJ Masks City joins the other themed areas, such as the Masha and Bear Forest, inaugurated in 2018: protected by a huge trunk that you cross like a tunnel, it houses the House of Masha with the Courtyard, the Bear Forest full of surprises and a Theatre where you can watch a fun show and take a souvenir photo with the protagonists of the cartoon.
Also present at the roll call are Bing and Flop, favourite of the little ones, protagonists of a mini live-show exclusively for Leolandia and several moments of meeting with children. With the reopening, the characters from the Miraculous series – the stories of Ladybug and Chat Noir, the Thomas Train, ready to offer a tour of the park aboard its sparkling blue wagons, and the hosts Leo and Mia – are back.
And after exciting adventures between pirates and cowboys, you can get to know the friendly inhabitants of the Animal Farm and discover the wonders of nature in the Aquarium and Reptile House. Finally, relax in the greenery of Minitalia, which offers a wonderful and always up-to-date journey to discover the natural and architectural treasures of the Belpaese.
New season is also synonymous with new special offers in Leolandia, starting with the promotion “Come by July 31 and come back to HalLEOween for free“, which, in fact, triples the fun: in addition to the usual free return within 60 days, all those who buy a ticket to enter Leolandia by July will get an additional free entry valid for the entire period of HalLEOween except Saturday, October 31, for a total of 3 days of intense fun … for the price of 1!
In order to avoid any possible form of crowding and to guarantee the respect of the safety distances, the entrance will be restricted, also through the adoption of online booking systems, which will allow you to identify the days and times with lower attendance. In this way, ample space will be left for each family unit and queues will be limited, for an even more satisfying visit. Distance guaranteed, but without ever separating the little ones from mum and dad, even on the attractions that, like all the other places in the park, will be sanitized on a regular basis. A team of smiley-eyed stewards will be at visitors’ disposal to explain the new “rules of the game” and to guarantee maximum peace of mind, also for access to shops and restaurants, where large outdoor areas will be set up.
In order to make the visit experience unique and to better prepare the opening, the park has also carried out a survey that gave very encouraging results, with more than 15,000 responses received on the first day alone, confirming the positive sentiment of the public: 80% of those interviewed said they wanted to return to the theme parks as soon as possible, considering them to be sufficiently reliable places also in light of the safety measures taken. With regard to the specific case of Leolandia, 43% of those surveyed said they would like to visit the park as early as summer 2020, while 65% of the sample will do so by the end of the year.
“Our reopening – says Giuseppe Ira, president of Leolandia – is an important step towards a return to normality: young people and children have been among the most penalized and today they have the right to have fun in total safety. Together with the Italian Permanent Parks Association and IAAPA, an organization that represents our sector worldwide, we have developed very precise rules, which we will scrupulously respect to protect our guests and staff. I would like to thank the institutions that have supported us at a national and local level, with particular reference to the initiatives undertaken by the Capriate San Gervasio Town Council, supported by all political forces. Special thanks also go to some local credit institutions, the BCCs of Bergamo, Milan and Orobica, which are close to us at this complex time. It will not be an easy season, but we are ready to make our contribution to the recovery, also in terms of employment and induced activities“.
At full capacity, Leolandia employs around 600 people; in 2019 it welcomed 1.2 million visitors, over 500,000 of whom came from outside the region, generating more than 100,000 overnight stays in hotels in the area through the “Parco + Hotel” package.
All details, including park opening days and hours, information on the promotion and access to the park are available on the website www.leolandia.it.
