CANCELED ANNECY 2020

8 Apr - 2020

Tags from the story: Annecy Festival, MIFA.

As already happened for other industry key events, also Annecy Festival and MIFA canceled the 2020 edition, announcing also online initiatives

The rationale and the international situation compelled the Annecy Festival and Mifa organisers to cancel the 2020 edition. Annecy is one of the most-awaited and attended Animation industry events.

Annecy is a party, a “family gathering” and it was impossible to conceive the celebration of the 60th anniversary, that would have happened this year when many of the key players would have not been able to attend.

Also, the decision to move the Festival to a later date was not taken as there was no reasonable option to consider.

But the show won’t be definitively over. In fact, there will be an Annecy 2020 online version that would give access to exclusive works and original content, despite the current circumstances.

The Official Selection will be announced on 15th April and then it will be disclosed an offer that will be elaborate and up to the expectations of the Animation professionals.

Also, the new Festival dates have been announced, from 14th to 19th June 2021. Next year it will be also officially celebrated the Festival’s 60th anniversary, and African animation, in Annecy. We all will be there!
