Atari has announced the agreement with GDS Group for the creation of a chain of video game themed hotels
Atari has announced the agreement with GDS Group, one of the leading innovation and strategy agencies, for the creation of a video game hotel chain. The Atari Hotels will focus on a new idea of accommodation with a different entertainment concept based on experiences for all ages. It will be much more than a place to stay, both in terms of design and content, which will combine the vintage appeal of Atari with the new VR and AR (virtual and augmented reality) technologies.
The first hotel will be in Phoenix in spring 2020, followed by Las Vegas, Denver, Chicago, Austin, Seattle, San Francisco and San Jose.
Atari was founded in 1972 as a video game company founded by Nolan Bushnell and Ted Dabney. During the 80s Atari was a reference point for the world of video games, being the first company in the world to produce home consoles. The historic brand has remained inextricably linked to the games of the fabulous 70s and 80s. Today that world returns with a licensing program dedicated to those who were young in the Eighties, but it is destined to infect the new generations.
