BANDAI FOR NEW LINE OF POCOYO TOYS

10 Feb - 2020

Zinkia and the Japanese toy company announce the agreement at Kidscreen Summit 2020 in Miami

Zinkia Entertainment, producer of the Pocoyo series, will be present at the next edition of Kidscreen Summit 2020, to announce its latest developments. The summit will be held at the Intercontinental Hotel in Miami from February 10 to 13.

Among the announcements will be the agreement reached with the toy company Bandai for the development and launch of a new Pocoyo toy line that will be marketed initially in Spain, Portugal and Mexico starting from Christmas 2020. The agreement marks the beginning of a new phase for both companies, which had previously collaborated to achieve millions in sales in key territories.

This alliance signifies an important boost in the worldwide relaunch of the Pocoyo brand. And in this context, Zinkia is currently producing a new season of the television series that will be available in September 2020; as well as special episodes and music videos that have already been released on YouTube and digital platforms.

The recently completed 2019 year has been the most successful in Pocoyo’s history on YouTube, where it received more than 3,200 million views and reached the figure of 18,000 million. It also obtained 5 million new subscribers, surpassing 19 million; and added 1.3 billion hours viewed throughout the year, representing an increase of 53%. All this has led Zinkia to record its highest annual revenue on the Google video platform.

In addition to this is the expansion that Pocoyo is experiencing in different television channels, closing broadcast agreements with Clan (Spanish Television), TV Azteca for Mexico, Guatemala and Honduras, TFO Canada, RAI in Italy, CCTV in China and in all local channels of the Asian region and ABC Australia, which premiered Pocoyo worldwide in 2005 and once more demonstrates its faith in the brand by acquiring the fourth season, currently in production.

The distribution of the series through VOD services has also experienced a positive trajectory, with presence in more than 40 platforms, among which are Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, HBO, Hulu and Movistar +, Tencent, IQIYI or YouKu.
