Iconic character debuts in animated series (52×11’) set for September 2020 worldwide premiere
The iconic and adorable little mouse with the big ears, Topo Gigio, makes his debut at MIPCOM 2019 in a new animated comedy adventure series set for worldwide premiere in autumn 2020, according to Francesco Mozzetti of For Fun Distribution.
The Topo Gigio series (52×11’ episodes) will launch in September 2020 in Italy on RAI YOYO, noted Mozzetti.
“Topo Gigio is a lovable character with proven global appeal over many decades;” said Mozzetti, “this well-crafted series draws upon the strength and charm of Topo Gigio. This collection of engaging stories features an ensemble cast of characters who share in carefree and irresistible adventures. Heartfelt stories, kid identifiable characters and the lovable Topo Gigio ensure that this series will provide wonderful memories for children worldwide.”
The Topo Gigio series follows the daily adventures of little Topo Gigio, a mouse living in a house with humans. For the witty and charming Topo Gigio, every human experience is new and exciting. Topo Gigio’s loyal companions include: his very best friend Zoe, who always helps to make things right; Bike Bob, the perfect buddy to ride with around the city and the ‘G-Team’, his long- time country friends (Mole, Pigeon, Bunny Twins, Turtle, Toad), who are always ready to join Topo Gigio wherever and whenever their carefree and irresistible adventures take them.
And, when the day is done, it’s time for a simple (and famous) request: “Kiss me goodnight and… Hug me ‘til I pop!”
Mozzetti added: ”we are very proud that such an experienced and reputable company as Lacey Entertainment has secured the worldwide English language distribution rights to the Topo Gigio series”. Lacey is most recognized for the global distribution of hit kids series, most notably Pokemon, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Yugioh!, Dinosaur King and Shin Chan among many others. Most recently, Lacey secured the multi territory pay TV broadcast with Nick Jr for the popular Kiva Can Do! young children’s series.
Topo Gigio, makes his debut at MIPCOM 2019. The Topo Gigio series is a co-production between Movimenti Production and Topo Gigio Srl, in cooperation with RAI, the Italian Public Service Television.
