Bologna Children’s Book Fair in Moscow, 4-8 September, and news from the Children’s Book Tour to Russia 2019 – 2021.

This project will enrich the international network of the Bologna Fair with an important collaboration in Moscow, leading on to the opening of a new International Children’s Book Fair in 2021.

The first stop on this tour will be at the upcoming Moscow International Book Fair (MIBF), the most important publishing event in Russia, Eastern Europe and Central Asia. From 4 to 8 September, the fair will present a new edition of the Illustrators Survival Corner, a huge exhibition of 1001 international picture books, a fellowship programme, round tables and an international conference on Silent Books.

  • Drawn Worlds – 1001 Outstanding International Picture Books in Moscow

An exhibition dedicated to the best international publishing in 12 sections: from toddlers to silent books, from comics to poetry, this show also includes the classics and books in which women are the protagonists.

  • The “Illustrators Survival Corner” at MIBF

After the great success in Bologna and Shanghai, BCBF – in collaboration with MIBF and Mimaster illustrazione (Milan) – will offer in Moscow a space dedicated to the profession of illustrator, designed for the young artists in mind and those who must face the publishing world and search for new collaborations in order to show publishers their portfolios.

With workshops, masteclasses and portfolio reviews that will take place together with Russian and international artists, publishers, agents and art directors.

  • Fellowship Programme BCBFxMIBF

The first fellowship programme (2-6 September) for publishers – created by BCBF in partnership with MIBF – brings together a group of seven leading children’s publishers from China, Italy, the United States and the United Kingdom. An intense programme of visits and meetings, offering the opportunity to meet and get to know the Russian children’s publishing market, key people and exchanging knowledge on international trends and business practices.
