Heading into its 11th year of celebrating excellence in children’s television and digital entertainment, Kidscreen Awards is introducing new categories for live-action series, short films, SVOD platforms, kids-only streaming services and YouTube channels to keep pace with the ever-changing kids content market.
Programming entries are now being accepted for Preschool (0 to 5), Kids (6 to 10) and Tweens/Teens (11 to 17) in the following categories:
• Best New Series
• Best Animated Series
• Best Non-Animated or Mixed Series
• Best Live-Action Series
• Best One-off, Special or TV Movie
• Best Short Film
• Best in Class
Then there are the Broadcasting categories:
• Channel of the Year
• Best On-Air Host or Hosting Team
• Best Programming Block
• Best SVOD Platform
• Best Kids-Only Streaming Service
And finally, the Digital categories for Preschool (0 to 5) and Kids (6 and up):
• Best Game App—Original
• Best Game App—Branded
• Best Learning App—Original
• Best Learning App—Branded
• Best Game (other)
• Best YouTube Channel
• Best Web/App Series—Original
• Best Web/App Series—Branded
• Best Website
Early-Bird Entry Fees are in effect again, offering savings to companies that complete their entries well before deadline. For all categories, the entry fee is US$300 until August 9, and US$400 afterwards. Additional entry into the “Best in Class” field requires an extra fee of US$100.
Winners will be announced at an evening presentation event as part of next year’s Kidscreen Summit, which is set to take place in Miami from February 10 to 13. All Kidscreen Summit delegates will be invited to attend the ceremony and cocktail party as part of their event experience, after registering online at summit.kidscreen.com.
Other guests can sign up to attend just the Kidscreen Awards event for US$150, beginning in January.
