KONAMI CROSS MEDIA SIGNS FIRST WAVE OF LICENSING DEALS FOR ICONIC GAMING TITLES

Konami Cross Media NY announced its first apparel and accessories agreements for the fan-favorite and iconic video game titles – Contra, Bomberman and Frogger

New deals have been signed with Bioworld Merchandising Inc., Collector Cup, Difuzed and Innex.  As a result, Konami gaming fans will be soon able to wear trendy gaming gear based on their favorite game characters, refuel or hydrate with character themed accessories, and collect an exclusive line of plush figures based on the iconic Contra characters.

The announcement was made by Jennifer Coleman, Vice President of Licensing and Merchandising, Konami Cross Media NY.  Coleman also noted that over the past several months, the company has been actively implementing a strategic shift by Konami to focus on franchise building, content creation and brand managements of its IPs.  This new holistic approach to brand management includes the development of additional content and merchandising to further fan engagement and build total audience for current and next generation gamers.

We are pleased to announce this first wave of agreements for the Konami titles with Bioworld Merchandising Inc., Collector Cup, Difuzed and Innex, as we are committed to creating richer connections between our fans and the games they love to play.”

Bioworld,Merchandising Inc., will focus on bringing lifestyle “head to toe” brand collections of fashion apparel and accessories across the three gaming IPs bringing authentic gear to Gamers in the U.S. and Canada.  Bioworld is the leading licensed pop culture apparel, sleepwear and accessories manufacturer in the world.

Difuzed, which is Netherlands based and is the EU partner of choice for lifestyle products for a wide range of gaming, entertainment, fashion and sports brands, will cover Europe, the Middle East and South Africa.

Specializing in the fitness sector, Collector Cup, will create a line of shaker cups for all three gaming IPs for those fans that need to keep their energy up for extended game play.

Lastly, Innex will develop a new line of Stubbins plush toys along with the introduction of Pixel Frames décor, which depict fans’ favorite Contra game characters and game scenes.
