Licensees, retailers and brand owners invited to enter ahead of major event in September

The UK Licensing Awards 2019 is now officially open for entries.

Preparations kick off now – for licensees, retailers and brand owners – as the countdown for the big awards ceremony on September 10 officially starts.

The Licensing Awards 2019 categories cover all aspects of the UK licensing industry – and are free to enter. Entry and nomination forms for all the awards categories are now available to download by simply clicking on this link.

The categories are:

  • Product Awards – for ranges of licensed products
  • Retailer Awards – for retailers of licensed merchandise
  • Licensed Retail Marketing Initiative – for a specific marketing campaign run by a UK retailer to support a licensed range or product
  • Property Awards – for specific licensed properties
  • Licensed Promotions Campaign – for a specific licensing marketing promotion
  • Honorary Achievement Award – for an individual’s outstanding contribution to the industry.

This year, a new category has been introduced to the Property section – Best Gaming Licensed Property.

In addition, for the fourth year, the LIMA Rising Star Award will be affiliated to The Licensing Awards 2019.

The headline sponsor is once again Brand Licensing Europe, while the awards are officially supported by LIMA, the licensing industry’s trade association.

The Licensing Awards are as ingrained in the industry calendar as BLE, and for very good reason,” said Anna Knight, event director of BLE. “It’s an amazing event that recognises and rewards the very best of the best in this market, from manufacturers and marketers to retailers and brand owners.

It’s also a really big deal to us that Max Publishing invites delegates from the BLE Retail Mentoring Programme to take part in the judging day. Our joint goal to continue educating retail about the power of licensing is a critical and ongoing one.”

Kelvyn Gardner, MD of LIMA UK, commented: “Recognising excellence in our industry is a matter of high priority for LIMA, and to do so throughout licensing careers is clearly the right thing to do, from rising stars through outstanding product and property performance all the way to the Honorary Achievement Award.

And of course,” he added, “The Licensing Awards also presents the best of the best in the UK before the assembled company of licensing in a fun evening rarely bettered in the social calendar. LIMA is delighted to be able to offer our wholehearted support for another great year in 2019.”

The closing date for entering the licensed product awards categories is Friday May 31, 2019. These entries will be judged by an extensive panel of retail buyers from leading high street names.

Online and downloadable nomination forms for the Retailer Awards, Property Awards, Licensed Retail Marketing Initiative, Licensed Promotions Campaign and Honorary Achievement Award are also now available from the website.

The Licensed Property Awards can only be entered online. The deadline date for the Property Awards is Friday June 28, 2019. These entries will be validated by retailers and licensees.

The deadline for submissions for the LIMA UK Rising Star Award is June 12, 2019. It is open to all individuals under 30 years old working in the industry.

Tickets and tables are also now on sale for The Licensing Awards 2019, which takes place in The Great Room in The Grosvenor House Hotel in London on Tuesday, September 10, 2019.

Over 1,400 retailers, licensees and industry suppliers will attend.

Tickets and tables are available from Createvents on 01183 340085 or email clare@createvents.co.uk.
