The production company signs for the production of the second season and the feature film by Sara and Marti for The Walt Disney Company.
After the success of the first season of Sara and Marti – #LaNostraStoria, TV series for children presented at MIPJunior 2018 and broadcast on Disney Channel (Sky channel 613) and in FTA on Rai Gulp, the production company Stand by Me continues his story of the boys’ world by signing, in collaboration with The Walt Disney Company, the second season of the TV series – broadcast on January 21, 2019 on Disney Channel – and the feature film “Sara and Marti – the film”, in Italian cinemas from March 14, 2019.

“
I’m very happy with the success of Sara and Marti, which was the first production for guys we’ve tried. We have combined our experience of telling real-life stories with Disney’s in-depth knowledge of its audience. The boys are a fantastic audience, when a story they like is thrilled with an enthusiasm that adults no longer have. The guys clamored for the second season and we not only give it that, but also a film with a different story that tells the holidays of the two sisters in Sicily” explains
Simona Ercolani, creative producer and CEO of Stand by Myself.
The two sisters Sara (Aurora Moroni) and Marti (Chiara Del Francia), who grew up in London but moved together with their father in the small medieval village of Bevagna, in the heart of Umbria, are the two protagonists of this all-Italian production that uses an innovative television language, not scripted, in which young actors are called to behave spontaneously, as they would in reality, returning a story close to the boys: “Not only for the second season – continues Ercolani – but also for the film we have kept the technique of the built reality in which the protagonists tell their thoughts directly in the car and the acting, even if guided by a script, occurs spontaneously on the set“.
The school, the family, sport, music and relationships of friendship and love are the themes of Sara and Marti #LaNostraStoria, which is added in the film also that of discrimination and prejudices: the point of view of the story is always that of the boys, thanks to the freedom of young actors to bring themselves – their language, their world, their different personalities – in acting.
The success of the property Sara and Marti is also confirmed in the licensing, managed by the agency ETS Studios, which has already seen the activation of important licenses in the publishing and food sector – including the book “Sara and Marti -Londra, stay or return” for Mondadori Electa and the Easter eggs ofWalcor – and others on the way. Proposals for international distribution are evaluated.
Always committed to returning a story of unpublished, real and contemporary Italy, ranging in genres and formats, from fiction to docu-reality, from factual to infotainment, Stand by me with “Sara and Marti” has turned its attention to the kids & teen target. A mission that is reinforced with two new titles on the air: “Jams”, a fiction series created in collaboration with Rai Ragazzi and aimed at the 7/12 year target that addresses, for the first time in the history of Italian public television, the issue of harassment sexual towards the boys, and “Lettori Young”, program soon on air on laF (Sky 135) that tells the true stories of many small Italian readers intertwined with the books that have most marked and affected them.
