Winx Club and 44 Cats.
Content powerhouse Rainbow is bringing two of the biggest kids brands in world licensing from BLE to MIPCOM 2018: Winx Club and 44 Cats.
44 Cats
44 Cats is a Rainbow production in collaboration with Antoniano Bologna and Rai Ragazzi. It follows the daily adventures of Lampo, Milady, Pilou, and Meatball – four adorable kittens who are part of a music band named The Buffycats. The protagonists live in the Clubhouse, a garage beside old Granny Pina’s house. Their adventures explore the themes of friendship and altruism: the four cats love helping others and always find creative solutions to everyday hitches by dealing naturally with important themes like tolerance, diversity and acceptance.
This eagerly anticipated show will premiere worldwide on the 1st of November at Lucca Comics and Games and it will debut on Rai Yoyo the 12th of November, whilst other broadcasting deals have been signed with Nickelodeon (multi-territorial), Discovery Kids (Latin America), and Super RTL (Germany). Major broadcasting deals in France, Russia, UK and many other countries are also in the pipeline.
Winx Club
Winx Club is the evergreen classic that follows the adventures of a group of young fairies as they combine school life with battling against the forces of evil. The show mixes action/adventure with comedy and appeals to girls from 4 to 10 right up to tween/teen. The brand first debuted in 2004 and now boasts 182 produced episodes, 4 TV movies and 3 theatrical releases.
To celebrate 15 years since the launch of the brand, series 8 – featuring 26 brand new episodes – will premiere at Rome Film Fest within “Alice nella Città” the section dedicated to new generations. Saturday 20th of October at 11.30 am the fairies born from the imagination and talent of Iginio Straffi will parade at the Auditorium of Rome, and from 12.00 pm there will be a big party and lots of news, inside the Sala Cinema Hall. The most important will be the world preview of an episode of the new series 8. The new episodes will see the return of the most popular Winx Club’s fairies, Enchantix, Syrenix and Butterflix. The celebrations will continue with an exhibition that will bring fans into the magical world of the fairies among stories, curiosities, unpublished drawings, novelties and interactive activities. It will be inaugurated at Lucca Comics and Games the 31st of October 2018, then it will arrive in Milan and in many European countries in 2019. Also, in 2019 the new live show will arrive in the theaters around the world: a great show that will enchant the audience with special effects, cutting-edge technologies, holograms and spectacular light games.
Finally, the highly anticipated live action television series co-produced with Netflix will see the Winx in the flesh, to continue to excite the large audience of young adults.
The fifteenth anniversary will also see Rainbow launch a global marketing plan that will reach out to the millions of Winx fans across the world and involve lots of exciting and engaging activities and involve the brand’s licensing partners.
