IN ITALY DISNEY CHANNEL TURNS 20 YEARS!

The first twenty years of the Disney channel in Italy, pioneer of entertainment for the youngest of yesterday, today and tomorrow.

Disney Channel (Sky, channel 613) extinguishes 20 candles in Italy. A birthday that becomes an opportunity to celebrate the history of the channel launched on October 3, 1998 with the airing of one of the most popular Disney animation classics ever, The Lion King.
The channel’s program has immediately had a great attention for the TV series drawn from the most successful Disney feature films, such as Timon and Pumba, Aladdin, La Sirenetta. In turn, Disney Channel has had very successful film declinations such as Hannah Montana: The Movie and High School Musical 3: Senior Year.
Disney Channel was the first channel to offer Live Action for kids, since 2005 with Zack and Cody at the Grand Hotel and the following year with the launch of Hannah Montana. Among the many successful Live Action that have marked the history of the channel also Raven, Cory in the White House, The Wizards of Waverly, Good Luck Charlie and Jessie.
Also the first telenovela for boys was broadcast by Disney Channel in 2008: the success of Patito Feo, followed in the last 10 years, the boom of Violetta (launched in 2012) and Soy Luna, aired with his third season in the first TV from Monday to Friday at 20.35. In addition to the great importance of the Disney Channel Original Movie, which has always been a reference point for the channel thanks to the popular High School Musicals, Camp Rock and Descendants, Disney Channel has never lost the energy to experiment: this is demonstrated by the launch of the first Constructed Reality, Sara and Marti #Lanostrastoria.
Disney Channel‘s milestone is also made in Italy thanks to original productions that have always been exported around the world like the historic Art Attack. Lots of conductors, now protagonists of the Italian television scene, have been the channel’s faces over the years: from Massimiliano Ossini through Giovanni Muciaccia to Alessandro Cattelan and Alvin. Italian productions of great success are also TV series like Quelli dell’Intervallo, Those of Interval Cafè, Life Bites – Life Pills, In Tour and Alex & Co. Following this trail, on October 1st School Hacks was launched, series directed by Nicola Conversa (known to the public as a member of the YouTube Nirkiop group) and broadcast with a double episode in the first tv every day from Monday to Friday at 20.25.
