Rai Ragazzi launches a call to action initiative aimed at students of animation or audiovisual schools, or those who have completed their studies since a few years, with a project of original animation and/or unpublished drawer. The best ones will be admitted to the pitching session for a maximum of 10 young authors, to be held in Rome on Monday 3 September 2018.
The objectives of the pitch day is to make known this talented animators and illustrators and their project and to Rai Ragazzi management, with suggestions and guidelines for the continuation of their work.
Among all the nominations, the Rai Ragazzi Cartoons and TV series structure will choose up to 10 projects based on the following criteria: originality of the project, potential for success in at least one of the reference audience (children, teenagers, teenagers, families), innovative background, potential for international development. Only projects for television series, films / animation specials (minimum 26 minutes) and cross-media animated projects may be submitted.
The selected young authors will receive an admission confirmation by e-mail by 20 July. On 3 September each participant will have 30 minutes to present their project and answer the questionnaire. Representatives of independent Italian production companies will also be invited and all the young authors who will take part in the Pitching Day will receive a certificate of participation from Rai Ragazzi broadcaster.
The meeting also aims to stimulate and encourage the presence of young Italian authors at the European Cartoon Springboard event aimed at young European talents, which will be held in Valenciennes (France) from 4 to 6 December 2018 and organized by Cartoon Media.
