UglyDolls are protagonists at next week’s Pitti Bimbo trade show through the special project Fashion Comics.
The UglyDolls celebrate individuality and creativity and are born from a romantic story: a design secretly exchanged between two lovers David Horvath and Sun-MinKim in 2001.
Since then, the phenomenon has spontaneously extended to become a real brand composed of sixty-eight colorful characters and an animated feature film which will be released in May 2019.
Icon of imperfection, the UglyDolls have rewritten the rules of tolerance: WE ALL HAVE A LITTLE BIT OF UGLY.
Some flaws in the seams make each UglyDoll a unique character aware of what matters is not the appearance but what we are and we have inside.
Some of the most famous brands of apparel and accessories for children will celebrate the UglyDolls brand during the 87th edition of Pitti Bimbo (21 23 June, Florence) in the area dedicated to the FASHION COMICS project.
The initiative was conceived by the designer Alessandro Enriquez and developed in collaboration with CPLG Italy, the licensing agency that manages the UglyDolls brand in Europe.
Each brand – MIMISOL, SIMONETTA, GALLUCCI, PERO, I’M ISOLA MARRAS, 10X10ANITALIANTHEORY, BAD DEAL, FUN & FUN, MIMIDA, I LOVE MY DOG, LEONTINE VINTAGE, GOGANGA – has dressed a Uglydoll plush, that has become iconic through a t-shirt will printed by Camac.
