From 12th through 14th April the animation industry meet in Turin on the occasion of the leading cross-media and animation festival promoted by Rai and organized by RaiCom.
Turin returns to be the capital of animation, hosting next week the 22nd edition of Cartoons on the Bay, the international animation, cross-media and children’s TV festival promoted by Rai, organized by RaiCom in collaboration with the Regione Piemonte, Film Commission Torino Piemonte and FIP, Piemonte Film Investments. The event is an opportunity to be updated on the latest trends in the audiovisual and cross-media areas and learn more on the latest novelties which will characterize the Italian television scene for children of the near future.
Like every year, the festival is characterized by a theme and a Guest Country. The protagonists of this edition, therefore, are #music with ad hoc focuses by strategic partners of the event such as the leading thematic channels DeAKids and Nickelodeon. #Canada is the Guest Country, bringing to Turin the richness of its companies in the animation field.
The festival is not only an event and trends but also an occasion to focus on social themes. In this regard, the event will be the occasion to inaugurate a record-breaking exhibition on the theme of Human Rights, seen from the point of view of comics and animation. Always in Turin an exhibition on Assassin’s Creed Origins, promoted by Ubisoft Montreal, also awarded as Studio of the Year along the event. Other awards include the two Career Awards to Gary Goldman, father of the animated version of Anastasia and the historic Turin-based animation studio, Lastrego & Testa.
Rai Ragazzi will be one of the undisputed protagonists of the event, proposing to the insiders and the general audience important television previews and experiments on virtual reality. Among the main news, the launch of RaiPlay Yoyo app, the brand new online platform that will allow children and families to enjoy the rich programming dedicated to children everywhere!
